If you can say you're tired of harem anime, then you've obviously not watched enough

I was tired of it from the moment I discovered it, I prefer more realistic settings and an actual relationship developing between two people instead of five girls being head over heels for one guy. Not to mention the guy always has to be the most dense idiot on the planet so he wont notice it.

Well calling harems unrealistic is unfair. There plenty of real life harems in america. Is just anime make it harder than it seems. Hell there even dating sites for it.

I don't... What is..... Who am......Where am.....What?
Please tell me you're kidding. I've lived in the U.S. most my life and never have I ever seen anything even close to a harem happening in a high school.

I never say school You really think horny teenagers can handle that kind of complex relation ? Maybe one in a million. A least not america teens.

I meant full adults. There sites for that kind of relation. And there are documentaries about it. You know the sex educational channel I think.

The only thing I ever saw that can compare even a bit to a harem in my school. Was a bunch of girls and guys fucking behind the school steps that get you from one floor to the other. I saw them and they gave zero fucks. I proceed to continue walking and pretend I saw noting a all.

Depends on the hook. In general I didn't like cliches but some are just well written or have a twist, maybe a certain feel about them that sets it apart. MY love STORY I enjoy quite a bit,I don't know why. And Welcome To The NHK I honestly loved even tho there was pretty much every cliche one could think of.

Mostly yes. Occasionally there'll be a good one that comes along, or at least one that has enough to keep me interested like Testament did last season. But then there are all the other awful, cliche-ridden ones that offer almost nothing but those cliches and some fanservice. Recent ones being shows like Absolute Duo, Trinity Seven, and World Break. It's gets to a point where for a lot of these harems, once you've seen enough of them they all start feeling the same and then it becomes a waste of time almost.

The market will determine when the majority has had enough of cliche and harem.

In my opinion a cliche is only as good as you make it. There can be good tsunderes and there can be bad tsunderes. I would say anime should branch away from its incredibly rigid character archetypes.

I'm getting tired of this question already.

There are like 30+ shows coming out every season. If you don't like the stupid crap you've seen 10,000 times, then don't watch it. You'll still have five or more Anime to watch, which should be plenty. If you're tired of what you're seeing, maybe you should just try to broaden your horizon.

I've stopped watching harem anime for the most part, but there's still plenty of great shows out there! Heck, my current queue is like 12 shows deep and maybe one would fall under that category. I also figure that I haven't seen as many shows as some of the people on CR so perhaps while it's all new to me, everyone else may have watched it like a dozen times...

As unfortunate as it may seem, it's really the market that determines how much of these cliche and harem based anime, viewers get. If it seems like we're getting a lot of it, it's probably because the stuff sells.

That show's pretty terrible, yeah. From the name, I was expecting some funny guy trying to put all the suave moves on girls with giant mallets, leading to the cliche slapstick. It not even as good as that!

But the problem isn't depth so much as having the shallow plot and shallow characters tied together by a lot of unreasonable events. Just very lazy writing. Time to explain how magic works a little and have the hero learn a spell? Some powerful book was just lying around and the waitress gives it to him. BORING.

I don't care if it's some deep character who's struggling to escape a sedentary lifestyle and find excitement before the end of his youth, or some deep plot exploring the folly of jealous greed, if the ring's just LYING THERE and he puts it in his pockets... well, the story would be pretty bad if all the events were like that, regardless of the depth.
