Hello,

I think this is my first post.

It was my dream to go to Japan since I was young. I got a job and saved money every month and I'll have enough for a trip next year. I like if I visit a place to meet some locals to show me how they live. Sadly I don't really know people from Japan. I want to make friends with people from there. (of course, I can't refuse friendships from other places too ^^).

A little about myself...
I'm a 24 year old guy from Romania. I studied Computer Science, gonna get my master's degree in Computer Engineering next week and I might go for a Ph.D. in hopes to become a teacher at my university.
For now I work as a C++ programmer.

I like trains (Japanese and Romanian), Cars, Programming, Radio (my biggest radio achievement was receiving a clear signal of NHK Radio from Japan on my radio), Video Games, Anime (duh). I'm also a Star Trek TOS fan and Star Wars fan. As for genres, I don't know, my tastes keep changing.

I studied a bit of Japanese but not much, I can read and understand a few words or phrases, I didn't practice writing so I can't write (unless on a keyboard)

So.. if you're from Japan (or anywhere else) don't be afraid to start a conversation. I'll do my best to not be boring.

You will have the chance to fulfil your dream. Until last year I thought it was impossible to visit other countries by myself (my parents are... well.. parents, you know, always trying to scare me so I won't do fun stuff >_<), but now that I have my own job and can save a some money. Take care of your family and I wish you best of luck with getting there soon :)

Thanks for the encouragement ^^

I studied abroad there for 4 months last year! Amazing country, although not knowing conversational Japanese may be difficult (even at the international university, about 1/3 of the students couldn't speak any English at all).

Great place to visit, not sure if I could live there though, at the end of four months I was ready to come home. If/when you go, I can give you suggestions regarding places to check out. Do you know where you will be staying? Tokyo? Kyoto?
