I like some nightcore channels. Some people do really good covers. I'm not a big fan of remixs though.

Some covers are fucking awesome. Especially a good drum cover.

Point and case...

Machinegunsmiths "Judas Priest - painkiller" drum cover.. his Descending cover is also good.

That cover is just all around god tier because the original drums are fucking metal as hell and the cover just makes them more prominent in the song.

Another good cover artist is the guitarist Del Riego. Heres a metal cover he did for Bloody Tears (castlevania)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX4hF-IVcSU

And his Saint Seiya tribute song, the part where he plays the main riff of Pegasus Fantasy (2:10) is fucking spine chilling.

nightcore can go die for all I care though.. I dont really listen to it.

As a musician, I quite enjoy seeing others play the songs I like so I can see how it is done with my own eyes. Of course they have to be good at what they do and do it with good production values. Otherwise, whats the point?

John Kew drum cover of Wax Simulacra by The Mars Volta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERs7mm1MDfc

There are also many professional covers/remixes which put their own spin on another artist's music, which can be quite amazing.

Hurt - Johnny Cash (Originally by Nine Inch Nails): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vt1Pwfnh5pc
Rocket Man - Maynard James Keenan (Originally by Elton John): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6Re0cXJkb0

Nightcore: Gives people a reason to relive their mid-late 2000s punk jams.

Remix: Variations on the song to give it a different vibe.

Cover: Oftentimes resurrects really old tunes. Also can restructure the sound like a remix.

Dub: .... never good

I like remixes that make a song sound very different from the original. Same with covers; I prefer covers that play the song in a different style than the original.

Simply no to all of the above 4 choices. Just. no.

Besides night core, the others can be at least decent if done right.

remix
alot of good 8-16bit music have been remix and played using real instrument instead of the old school FM/PSG chip.
most of it is fcking superb.and some time they change mixed a song to a whole new genre, and its just amazing some of them fit so well.
example:original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diwPkofphUU remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iSDeG3qksE
example: original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY2WIFGQttE remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qt54EVOik0o

its not that i dislike the original, but sometimes,it can be mod to be much more creative & open ended.everything can be mod,not just music,it depends on the modder its self.but for me there is a catch for a good remix.
it gonna respect the original material ,meaning that the song structure must still be there,if all 3 of the important thing have been change - rhythm, bass & melody, the remix will mostly sound like whole other song/bad.

Nightcore's sometimes good, remixes are often good, covers can often be BRILLIANT, mostly the kind that changes the genre. I'd usually just read subtitles while listening to foreign music in its original language, but obviously there are some people deficient enough to need dubs or dubbed anime wouldn't exist, and I wouldn't begrudge them their music.

Oh, and you forgot mashups. If you're going to rant about people "ruining" original songs by making derivative works, how could you forget the source of this kind of degeneracy?

Oh, and parody versions.

Think is, if the existence of any of that makes you mad, I think that just means you're deficient. I mean, really? It actually becomes difficult for you to find the original version of the song that you have such enthusiasm for? I mean, there's some where it's been almost forgotten that the song was a cover., but I don't even know where I'd start with someone who thought covers were bad on the basis of those cases existing.

I've heard some good covers. Staind did a great cover of Alice In Chain's Nutshell. I almost liked it better than the original. But then again, some covers are really horrible. The other stuff, I'm not a big fan of. Some remixes can be ok, but that's more of a pop thing.

Gotta love those choices:

<Type> (Your opinion is wrong. This music is bad.)
<Type> (Your opinion is wrong. This music is bad.)
<Type> (Your opinion is wrong. This music is bad.)
<Type> (Your opinion is wrong. This music is bad.)
CAPITAL LETTERS! (The search function is too hard for me to use.)
