Considering this is mostly text-based roleplay, wouldn't color-coding things (this is just an idea) make the flow of the roleplay faster and easier to read? Like red for actions or something along those lines. I don't like this idea as much, but some other ones are...

Also, what about spoilers for things you only want a specific character to read? It would make plot twists more interesting, although if someone would so choose, they could open the spoiler anyway.

As a sidenote: this is just my opinion... but can we keep proper grammar for the roleplay? It makes it seem more story-like and adds to the flow.

Besides that, how about we at least use some ...s, commas, and dashes to indicate pauses and maybe italics or bold to indicate tone, since we aren't really using audio. It would make it easier to depict your character.

Anyways, these are just ideas, so, yeah.

I like those ideas, and about the color coding idea, people usually have ways to indicate an action. Personally, I put the action between *. For example, something like *smiles* or *jumps*. The part about having only certain characters see something so that things can be more interesting is an amazing idea, and PMs can probably be used for that. I also agree that we should use correct grammar, it just makes everything look better.

I agree that this should read like a proper book. Example: Me being Angela and another person being Mark.

Angela looked up at Mark, narrowing her eyes at him in suspicion. "What do you mean?" She challenged him, taking a step so that she was toe to toe and nearly nose to nose.

^that really helps. If you can read a book, you know how to role play ^^

I completely agree, whether people like to do it he way I do in the MMORPG I play where we use shorter messages that are less like books or write it as if you were writing a story, it's fine with me. I can work with either way and I will use the preferred way of these two.

The differences:

The way we do it in the MMORPG:

-No dialogue indicators, instead action indicators (such as *jumps* or -runs-)
-Shorter messages
-Less detail on the characters' thoughts

Story style:

-Longer messages
-Written like a story, as the name indicates
-More detail on characters' thoughts
-Dialogue indicators (aka quotation marks)

That covers the basic differences pretty much, you can choose your way of rping between these and modify it to create your own style. If you would like to add any other differences between the two, feel free to do so.

The bonus of writing it in story format is that we could, probably, manage to compile the roleplay into some sort of book-like format.

precisely! I've done things both ways; if it was a serious RP then we did it story-style.

Now, what about one just for fun? No rules, no anything...just a silly RP? We could do 'short style' for that? ^^
