Accidently made 2x orders for the same items, sent an message via contact us to get the first one cancelled, but will that happen before I get double charged?

Not sure my account could handle twice the amount at the moment...

I canceled and refunded one of the duplicates. Refund will probably take 1-3 business days to go through, depending on the processing speed of your bank.

If you are in the US and used a debit card, your bank should automatically decline the second charge received if it would overdraft your account. That is, assuming your bank didn't trick you into agreeing to turn overdraft ability for your debit card back on after the US government made "off" the default (on August 15, 2010).

Reviewing the Credit CARD Act of 2009, I see similar legislation was put in place for over limit fees on credit cards. Basically, that means if a charge was going to put you over the limit (and possibly subject to fees), it could now happen only if your credit card company tricked you into opting back in.


If your account could handle both CR charges but the real problem is something else that needs to be paid coming through before the one charge is refunded, that is a different issue.
