This is just to discuss how much you have invested into one individual game. Now when I say hardcore I mean you have hundreds and even thousands of hours logged on steam. So hardcore that you have to spend hours and even days of non-stop grinding to get something worth anything.

Here is my example (think of this as a confession):
I have wasted entire summers playing starcraft 2. I became nocturnal just because I wanted to play starcraft 2 without interruptions. I am so hardcore at starcraft that blizzard invites me to all their betas. I have gone so hardcore that I nearly flipped my shit when I got platinum ranked instead of diamond ranked. I went so hardcore that my record for APM is 200. I have gone so hardcore that I sometimes will intentionally skip out on my ADHD medicine just to get the upper hand. I have played games with so many people that my record for most teams in one season for starcraft is 7. I have gone so hardcore that I once forgot to eat, that never happens. I am so hardcore at starcraft that I dropped $200 to get the physical collectors edition for Wings of Liberty because I didn't buy the digital in time. I am so hardcore I dropped $400 on a CPU for my computer just so I could play 7 vs. 7. I am so hardcore that I once stayed up for 32 hours to get out of platinum and back into diamond.

And the best part is after all that hardcore action. When I try to play the game now I nearly puke because I have played it so much. This is why you never go hardcore. So tell me when have you gone that hardcore? Because if nobody has gone that hardcore I will be really sad.

Oh yeah. Don't judge because if you are posting here... You have probably gone hardcore yourself.

Can't claim fame to Steam, but when American McGee's Alice came out, I didn't sleep until I beat the game. There's about 40 hours of straight game play, not counting cut scenes, etc. Now granted, I was 29 at the time. I couldn't do it now. But it was the best 4 days I've ever stayed up in my life. I slept 24 hours after that. Burned a week's worth of vacation to do it. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I played the Mass Effect trilogy 24 times if that's considered hardcore.

I don't remember exactly how many hours I've invested into Skyrim but it's probably somewhere in the thousands. I've also completed around seven sixty hour playthroughs in Dragon Age: Inquisition. On most of them I've yet to play Jaws of Hakkon (something I plan to do once I beat the game as a dwarf) and I still plan on doing at least two more complete playthroughs -- one of which will be played from start to finish on the highest difficulty setting.

I've nearly got all achievements on both of those games as well to the point where I only have around five left for Skyrim and around eight for Dragon Age.

On my first Dalish playthrough I've killed all ten high dragons, beat both the main-story as well as the DLC, closed every single fade rift currently in the game, and added all the aesthetic additions to Skyhold.

I'm also planning on trying to get every trophy in Persona 4: Golden before Persona 5 comes out. It's strange because I'm not really an achievement/trophy hunter but considering how close I am for the first two as well as how amazing Persona 4 is I feel motivated to do so -- whereas usually I'll simply just play a game and put it down afterwards.

I think the most time I've spent on a game or 2 was with sprots games. In college we had a 10 person Super Tecmo Bowl league and I won the superbowl all 3 times with different teams.

In baseball stars I built up 6 teams so that I had adequate computer competetion to play against. That must have taken up about 500+ hours of Playing time.

As far as other games go I used to come home from school and plow though Golden Axe or Contra every day for a couple years.

I also must of played TMNT and Ecco (sega cd) for over 300 hours until I finally beat them.

Definitely didn't play BioShock Infinite + DLC 3 times in a row without playing anything else. Literally finished, watched the credits, selected higher difficulty and started again. Wait, I did that with the original BioShock too.

Not that this is a good thing, but I've spent around 3400 hours on Guild Wars 1 and around 9200 on WoW.

And yes, I'm aware that is literally over a year of my life spent on a single game. I don't play either anymore though.

I put about 1000 hours into playing Battlefield 3. Another 500+ probably just sitting in the menu's talking to friends or looking at stats. One day I talked with friends in a squad while still in the main menu for 12 hours. I have no clue how many hours I spent on BF3's stat tracking and social network site, Battlelog, but probably hundreds.

I don't consider that to even be that hardcore though. This was easy to do and I balanced it with Honors and AP classes. My internet is ridiculously bad and that led me to eventually stop playing and even when I played the most, I often rage quit or dc'd because of my internet. If I had good internet I easily could have doubled or tripled my gameplay. Loved playing BF3, and I was really good at it.

Here are my stats to prove the game time.

I played WoW since launch. I have been on and off for about 5 years now but the first 5 I must have put thousands of hours into.

Back when I used to play MW2 in 6-8 grade I played everyday. I used to trickshot, had an HD PVR, and were friends with lots of the known clans at the time. I probably have close to 2500 hours on MW2 alone across all 3 platforms. That also doesn't cover the other COD games and when I played other games with school friends.

Those were some good times, I even remember how I got into it, my friends, and lots of other things. I doubt your on this site, but if you are shout out to Giovanni and Vepu, u wasted my time in middle school but, I enjoyed all of it. From the hours of not getting a clip, to watching everyone progress and me still sucking, or stalking children on Club Penguin it was all good.

I slowly matured during 8th grade when I started to ride BMX. I stopped playing everyday, actually started hanging out with people, and got a girlfriend. (which was a stupid idea ) When I occasionally play MW2 now I can still hit every shot and only use snipers. I guess its like riding a bike haha.

Thanks to all this gaming though, I didn't watch any anime in middle school and avoided the "Weeaboo stage" that I always read people went through.

Oh god, my old channel...

Played lucent heart rpg for 2 years around 4 yrs ago for boss raids, also constantly logging on (I'm pretty well known since its a small community) to the point where tests and assignments doesn't matter anymore (almost flunk my classes) and then the game went under and restarted by another company.

aaand it gets worse when it comes to league. grind my way from bronze - gold, lots of blood, sweat and tears then reached the peak of Plat 3 by the end of season 4 (playing for 2 yrs since freshman college) and now i stopped for a bit cuz gotta get priorities straight.

Though all this gaming made me the person i am now so #noregrets.

I invested an entire week of gameplay to EVERY DMC game EACH. Except the reboot. I love Devil May Cry like it was my son.
