What would you do if everything in the world was legal for 12 hours?

Hide in my closet, possibly, to save myself from what may end up being the Purge. But first, grab the people I care about to hide with me. Possibly IP trace my enemies, send them many computer viruses or maybe at worst an assassin after em.

Stay at home, because all hell would break loose at that point. Seriously though, there's nothing I really want to do that is prohibited by law so...I guess steal money.

Hack the U.S government as well as the Russian, European, Korean, Chinese governments. Steal nuclear codes. Steal a rocket ship. Go to space. Set the whole world ablaze. All while eating watermelon, and watching anime that i of course stole.

Watch as the petty crime rate briefly blips up and then back down. Theft might go up. Abstract things like privacy might be compromised. Maybe some pleasure-seeking.

I very much doubt violent behavior would increase, since if the law isn't being enforced by leadership, people will start creating their own de facto laws -- most likely crude versions of what we already have. That is to say, people will fear vigilante justice as much as the law itself.

Law isn't just a top-down phenomenon; history has shown it to be emergent behavior. Laws simply codify the basic principles that people generally have so that they can be applied to populations larger than families and tribes.

It wouldn't take long before people start missing laws and implementing it themselves. Though I don't know if 12 hours is enough for anything at all to happen.

Do my best to avoid everyone for 12 hours. I'd be afraid I'd tick someone off.
