I can't make this call yet because I haven't seen more than one episode of Brotherhood.

I like the 2003 series about as much as Brotherhood. Edward Elric is still an awesome character, either way.

I liked both. Brotherhood followed the manga very well, I will admit. While FMA pretty much did its own thing. However, FMA with it's own storyline, had its qualities. It was an enjoyable series and had a darker feel. This is coming from someone who loves Hellsing of course. The filler in FMA was not as bad as series like Naruto or Bleach. Yes it had filler episodes, but at least they kept along with the story that was being told unlike the series I mentioned. Brotherhood was more to the point and followed the manga through the main story without any real detours. While this is good and all, making those stops here and there is not always a bad thing in moderation.
