I wonder what Japan's drinking age is. I always love it when jurisdictions say "you control the fate the nation but... sorry you're not responsible enough to handle liquor"

That's an interesting perspective considering one can be President of the United States at age 35.

"I'm not old enough to vote for myself, but I'm old enough to be your commander in chief and chief executive!"

And yes, I do see what you're doing there. It's hilarious.

One should also be able to spell properly to vote. It's too not to.

I am to young to vote

I can't tell if you are being serious or not.

I should have elaborated property owning males age 45 or older should only be allowed to vote.

That still doesn't tell me if you are being serious or not but I will indulge you. So you want us to go back to the slavery times and lord knows we know how that ended. And why can't females, males with no property, and males between ages of 18 - 45 vote lol

Anyone who doesn't own property isn't worthy of deciding the fate of a nation and anyone under the age of 45 is to immature to think straight.

Well first of all, long ago women fought for their rights and we got it, so let's not go back to that time shall we? Second of all, you have matured mostly by age 18 and owning property doesn't matter really. Let's not go back to the 1800's please. I do not mean to criticize or offend anyone, I just think this is. A bit unreasonable considering these reasons have been resolved in the past already.

About time.

What do you think about restricting the voting age limit at like 85. I feel like people older than that FOR THE MOST PART don't really have a clue about what they are voting about and who they are voting for. They usually just get sold over key words like Medicare and Medicaid. Obviously this is not a description of everyone over 85, I'm sure they are some intelligent ones. But just a thought. Or maybe they could do something like a test if you are over that age, like how they make you retake your driver license test if you are over a certain age to see if you can see clearly and remember the rules of the road.

I wish they'd do this for driving...

Yeah that's like here in the US where you can join the military at 18 and fight/kill/whatever but you can't handle a little liquor in you just yet...

When are we going to lower the drinking age to 14 like we should.

The age of consent is so damn low there... you're telling me it's okay for young people to get sexually involved, but can't drink? Thats dumb there

Maybe 14 is a bit young but it is stupid that your allowed to have sex and maybe get pregnant before your technically allowed to have some alcohol. And I say technically because cops in America don't care if your underage.

I personally would of like them to keep it that age probably.

Kids are still stupid at that age its not a good idea at all to lower the drinking age lower than 18. Also, I blame the lack of sex education in American schools for teen pregnancies. Not the fact people are allowed to have sex at that age.
