"Domestic Terrorism" as defined by the FBI:

Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.

This would appear to qualify.

I'm glad the media is at least keeping things generally respectful. There's a hole in the Christian community right now and I can't imagine the hole in SC in general.

And the hole in the black community is probably the most important ... since that was the motivation behind the attack.

Whatever quantity you want to put on people's suffering

I'm sorry, but is the implication here that the shooter was justified because it was in response to the recent riots?

What idle part of your brain deems skin colour as a thing to just never recognize? and why mention anything at all then? why bring up Christianity? The shooting was fueled by racial hatred, black families are mourning their relatives who died for being black, and the black community are INVALIDATED AGAIN BECAUSE EVEN WHEN THEY'RE MURDERED AND IT'S LITERALLY STATED THAT THEY WERE TARGETS EVERYONE FOCUSES ON SOMETHING ELSE.

What you're doing by ignoring these people's race that they're striving to embrace is worse than looking at it so basically.

No matter the reason, our thoughts should be with those lost and their families.

yup

i am a native south carolinian and charleston is my favorite city in the whole world (tho i havent been that many places), so when i heard about this last night i was pretty upset. i have been by that church more times than i remember. i hate that my area is now on national news but... social media is the worst. Turning this tragedy for their own agendas laced with their hatred and slander when really, we need to think about the victims and the families. Because that's what matters here.

so i will do what i can only do, think and pray for the families.

I just visited SC for vacation, I stayed on an "island" next to a beach but spent a day in Charleston. This is so sad. I saw a photo of the shooter, guy looks legitimately disturbed. It's very upsetting to hear about this, especially since i was in SC not that long ago. May the victims rest in piece and the killer get his ass handed to him.

I know how eerie that can feel. The day of the Santa Barbara shooting, I was supposed to be passing through there AT THE EXACT TIME, but ended up going a different route instead. Crazy.

Very sad what happened in Charleston. A church is certainly no place for that - of course, I can't think of anywhere deserving u__u

He's a terrorist and that's all we need to know about him. Are you saying we should expect & deserved to be killed because we riot & protest for police to stop killing us?

Ehh im kinda confused by what your trying to say. I dont really see how what he did was like the rioting in any shape or way. I know this was a massive clusterfuck when it was brought up last time but I still stand by my support of the riots. I dont really see the link between people tearing down business who have fucked with there community in protest of police brutality and someone shooting up a historically black church out of racial hatred

What's additionally tragic is that the the media has had multiple opurtunities to become so practiced in their responses.

Be still thy bleeding heart , ugh you're like the poster child for the preferred conservative right's cannon fodder. It was one guy who surprised everyone in a murderous, heinous way. In the months to come, it will fade from public interest and be all but forgotten. Dude, I'm not disagreeing with your message, just its delivery. You sound too emo.

>Calls my delivery weird.
>Writes "In the months to come, it will fade from public interest and be all but forgotten" like its shakespeare.

Its cool man.
