Trees, animals, bushes, dirt, grass, bugs, mountains, rivers. Anything you would find out in the wilderness is there. Go out and find people to make adventures with.

Elinor opened her eyes slowly, her vision blurry. When she tried to sit up all she could do was flinch and then freeze. Pain coursed through her shoulders and down her spine. Her eyes darted back and fourth to try to get a good look at where she was without having to move to much. All she could see were trees and more trees. Where am I..? She thought. She brought a hand up to her face and closed her eyes. She couldn't remember a thing.

"Why are there so many trees?" Kana exclaimed to no one in particular. "Trees, trees, trees, as far as the eye can see!" He threw his arms in the air in exasperation. "Guess I'm really lost now..." Kana thought.

A strange shape interrupted the flatness of the horizon. Curious, Kana walked in its direction, and as he approached it the shape morphed into a figure of a girl. She didn't seem threatening and he didn't sense any death emanating from her. "Thank goodness! Somebody that might be able to help me!"

"Hey! Excuse me but do you know how to get out of..." Kana's voice trailed off as he noticed the black wings on her back.

Elinor moved, startled, and flinched again. She looked the boy up and down. "W-who are you..." She managed to get out through her teeth.

The girl looked shaken, lost, and startled. "Ummm... I'm Kanahashi Yuuki, it's nice to meet you." Kana replied awkwardly. "What's your name?"

"E-Elinor.. I think..." She brought a hand up to her face again. "W-what about you?"

Kana noticed that she seemed really tense, almost as if she was in pain. "Hey, are you alright?" He placed a hand on her shoulder, making sure to avoid her wing. He tensed a bit with the physical contact, but that was the least of his worries.

Elinor jerked away, pain shooting through her back. She ignored his comment and looked at her back. "What.. What am I...?" She asked as she stared in horror at her wings. They were big. Big enough to wrap around her and hide her. Dried blood was caked around them and down her back. Her eyes began to sting and get blurry. "I.. Can't remember a thing..." She choked out as a tear fell down her cheek.

Kana had no idea what the girl--or was she an angel of demon?--was thinking, but she was obviously distressed Oh god what am I supposed to do? And why is there so much blood? Kana thought. He rarely talked to people, let alone comforted anyone, so this was foreign territory for him. "Take a few deep breaths..." Kana said awkwardly. The girl was fairly pretty, with dark brown eyes and black hair, but... He shook his head. Not the time to be thinking about that now.

Elinor wiped the tear away with a fist and sighed. Her body felt shaky. 'How long was I out?" She thought to herself, trying to take in her surroundings. It could have been days. She needed to find food, water, maybe a shelter.

"Here, would you like some water?" Kana asked, pulling the canteen from his back. Dusk approached as the sun sank to the horizon, and he didn't have anywhere to sleep besides the forest floor. Another night sleeping under the stars... But what am I going to do with her? He couldn't just abandon this random girl to the elements--she didn't seem to be in any state to help gather firewood let alone survive the night in the cold. I don't want to use a summoning slip, but what choice do I have? Revealing himself as a necromancer would only cause trouble, but maybe if she didn't notice...

"Can you move at all?" Kana questioned Elinor. She seemed tired, fragile even, and he felt as if she'd shatter like glass if he touched her again.

"Yes.. It just hurts.." Elinor said softly as she began to get up. She didn't have very good balance, but the girl managed. She looked the boy up and down and no thoughts about if he were dangerous or not crossed her mind. It was as if her brain was completely washed away, except for the ability to know how to talk. Elinor noticed the sun lowering as well, a light breeze shuffled the leaves. A few fell down to the ground, dry and brown. She felt goosebumps raising on her arms. "What day is it..?" She asked.

Kana looked up at the darkening sky, pondering the question. "There's something strange about this place... Time doesn't seem to flow normally. Days and nights can pass by in a blink of an eye, or last for what seems like forever. I think I've been wandering here for a week, but I'm not quite sure..." A gentle breeze sent a shiver up his spine, as if it was tracing fingers over his body. Something definitely wasn't right about this place, but he couldn't find a way to escape its grasp. "I could have been wandering for months for all I know," he added, grabbing his arms to stave off the chill.

"I need to make a fire, but not when she's around," Kana thought to himself.

"Do you think that you'd be able to gather firewood as I started the fire? I have some tinder and sticks here, but more is always better," He questioned lamely. Seeing that she could barely stand he doubted it, but he couldn't think of a better plan.

Elinor dropped her head, letting her hair fall over her face, and then brought it back up slowly to answer. She looked around deciding which way to go and picked the way towards the setting sun. As she limped the long black feathers dragged themselves behind her. They left a small trail in the dirt. Every once in a while a stick would catch on a feather or two and it would shoot pain up into Elinor's back, making her flinch. But, she did not know how to hold her wings up on her own so she had to deal with it.

Elinor looked around for a log or two. Anything she found however, was rather heavy and she couldn't bring herself to get the strength to pick it up. At the end of her firewood hunt she only managed to bring back a few sticks and moss.

As the girl limped off, Kana felt a stabbing guilt. "But it's for the best..." He thought to himself.

Kana quickly pulled out a summoning slip from his back pocket. "Only a couple left, but I guess this counts as an emergency. Too bad I don't have any solid food to offer." He tossed the slip into the air, felt a bit of strength leave his body, and uttered a quick command: "Fire." Flames erupted from the slip and a ghostly spirit rose into the air, barely visible in the smoke. As the slip descended to the ground in front of him, Kana quickly added the tinder and kindling. Soon, a small fire lit the surrounding area, which was quickly turning to darkness.

"I hope she gets back soon."
