I'm sure some of you remember their "kuro burger" from last year. Well, they're at it again, only this time it's an "aka burger."

The red color on the buns comes from tomato powder. I'm not interested in silly gimmicks like this, but it does sound better than that charcoal & squid ink monstrosity from last year.

What do you guys think? Does it look good? Disgusting? Are these people getting desperate for attention/money?

Hmm. It doesn't look too bad. Then again, it's 1:30am and I'm getting hungry. Yeah, I'd probably try it. I mean, how much can it cost? And to say you had the experience? It'd be like the McDLT. Anyone remember that? It was supposed to keep the burger hot and the lettuce cold. As it turns out, consumers don't like making their own orders at a fast food place.

The “Aka Burger” is set to hit Burger King’s locations in Japan on July 3 and those visiting can buy the burger for $5.57 and the chicken version for $4.36.

I'd buy the chicken version. It's cheaper.

*embarrassed look*

Yeah, I knew that. Of course. :P

Actually, I probably would buy the chicken version. It's a better source of protein, and it's cheaper. Win-win.

It's basically just food coloring with a little pizazz to taste, isn't it?
