If you don't like it don't watch it, why make a thread about this? I'm sure we all know that ^

I enjoyed Naruto up until this new manga stuff came out... they are just trying to beat a dead horse with this same type of story told over again... Now it will be about Sasuke's daughter and Sasuke while Naruto will most likely be killed or put in some dream state for the whole thing. I thought they were going to do a short story this doesn't look anything like the build up for a short story... It looks like the making of another whole series with the above happening.

I hope that everyone stops reading it, so it does become a short story... to me they ended it perfectly with the manga and the movie.... they are making me wish i would have never watched or read a single page of this if they keep going with this short story.

Do what I do. Check the comments first to see if they say it's a filler episode or not. Then I don't have to waste my time. I've already read the manga so I know how shit ends.

This will sound like "walk to school ten miles up-hill story", but you used to have to wait months for like 4 episodes of your favorite anime to be released on video. Buy that shit for 20something dollars, and you may even get a bunch of filler episodes. What's going on with Naruto is fine. If you don't want to watch a background story on Hinata's sister, then skip it that week. No big deal. Go have a run, or something.

Problem is quantity over quality.

I've seen like less than 2 episodes of Naruto as a whole. It's both too much to get into, and there's so much laziness to it. Lazy art, lazy stories, lazy, lazy, lazy.

It's like trying to go back and read every Batman comic ever. It's too much, you can't do it. So it's hard for new people to get into, and the fanbase is even getting tired of it.

So you're implying that there was a point in time at which Naruto wasn't crappy?

I don't think that Crunchyroll have the influence to change whatever Studio Pierrot decides to do. Gotta stick with it or read the Manga I am afraid.

Non-fillers of Naruto are great.
Some questionable plot twists has been made, but apart from that it's an amazing anime in my opinion.
Seems to be "lame" to like Naruto these days though, the way everyone feels the need to talk shit about it.

As for the OP's point, I agree, it's absolutely horrendous that they did this.
I was at a loss of words when I saw they went into what I thought at first was just a quick flashback, turned out to be yet even more fillers.

Crunchyroll obviously has nothing to do with it as several people already stated.

There's nothing that Crunchyroll can do, they have no say. Studio Pierrot, the studio animating it, are to blame and their producers/director.

Now this is what I'd recommend to you: Read the rest of the manga. It won't take you that long, the show is so close to the finale. Then, watch some more anime.

I'll tell you what, there's a lot better shows than Naruto out there and once you've experienced them you'll start to care less and less about Naruto (I'm assuming you haven't watched a lot of anime since you thought Crunchyroll could control or have a say in Naruto's distribution/development, I apologize if I'm wrong on assuming that).

Since I've read the manga, I just skip the filler sections and only watch the canon sections, no point in watching the useless filler.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that there are a lot of endearing moments to Naruto.

There is a lot of stuff that I remember really liking. However, for some reason, Kishi is unable to do that reliably. There are a lot of parts to the story that feel like they drag on forever even without fillers. There are a lot of power ups that felt unnecessary. Characters start to lose their identities and their purpose in the story pretty easily.

I have to say I think the biggest flaw in the story was making Sasuke bat-shit evil after he killed Itachi. It just completely ruined his character for me. Before that I still thought his character was interesting and intriguing, but afterward he felt like a dime-a-dozen villain. So much so that as much of an asshole as Danzo was, I wanted him to win in his fight versus Sasuke.

The second biggest flaw to me was giving Naruto all his super flashy powers. I really liked the idea of the Sage powers. They were the antithesis to Sasuke's power. Sasuke's power worked on power that was granted to him and was strengthened by anger and emotion. The Sage powers worked on the fact that Naruto had to train his ass off to master them, and actually he had to keep himself balanced during a fight or they would backfire on him. It was reckless power vs disciplined power. It had a great message. Then Kishi goes ahead and just goes more flashiness with more fox powers that sell more toys.

Never has a series made me heed more the words, "Don't fix it if it isn't broken." There was so many right parts with Naruto, that were just followed with a shitstorm of cliche wrong.

I think you're right about that... I can't help wondering if someone might someday actually tally them up and give us a firm result. I would guess that it's close to 50/50 with filler winning out by a slim margin.

Out of the 416 episodes around about 90 are pure filler. You could probably skip 30 more of the episodes without missing any story. There is a lot of recap, so you'll end up seeing those 30 episodes throughout the other episodes you will be watching.

So, around 1/4 of the episodes are filler/not worth watching.

If you include arcs that are technically filler, but have some relation to the story then you could probably skip another 100 episodes. So, if you were completely adamant to skip all the fillers even if they have some shred of story you would be around 50% of the episodes being filler with fillers being slightly more than non-filler episodes. I would say 55% fillers to 45% non-fillers.

QFT. Do not waste your time with that BS. Pierrot's filler is excruciating. It made me give up on Bleach altogether.

Honestly I just stopped watching and reading altogether at the kage sumit arc because I just hated the ways some of the characters where developing (or not) and the overall direction of the story and now that's it's over well the manga anyway) I really don't regret that, however if you still personally enjoy it then good for you and if you dislike it like myself then good for you but if you're a fanboy who refuses to admit to any short comings or someone who hates it just because everyone else does then by all means...go fuck yourself

Becoming crap? I wasn't aware Naruto started recently. I thought it's been around for a long time.
