I try to keep bias out 've my choices as much as possible, I'm not a very angry person so rage and pride are not usually a problem with that, but there is limits

In my opinion it's only a problem when you don't admit or acknowledge that you are biased.

Mkay, first of all, it's important to remember
that every human being on earth exhibits a case
of bias in one area or another.

The exact point when ones personal bias
becomes an issue is when they become afraid
to accept something that seemingly goes against
their bias, and simply cling to their beliefs and views
without trying to understand another view or another belief.

Basically, when you have reached a point where the only
thing you can do is lash out against other views and turtle
into your own view, you have reached the low point of bias.

I say this because I've been there.
These days, my core philosophy has been to improve
myself in this area so that I may have a better understanding
of others.

Differing views and experiences are
not a bad thing, and seeking to crush
opposing views rather than understand
them simply limits your own growth... not to
mention the damage to those around you.

There's bias in almost ANY topic or discussion. it comes from many sources from beliefs to nostalgia and just about any other influence in between.

I think it only becomes an issue, however, when it negatively affects others and how they can live their lives or if it leads to hurting of others.

For instance, I am in a bias that Transformers: Beast Wars sucked, but there are others who grew up with that as THEIR Transformers show and adore it. In turn many of them believe that G1 sucked due to all the plot holes and bad animation mistakes. in the end we are both right but for our own reasons. The only thing we all tend to agree on is that Michael Bay sucks

If as long as what you are biased towards doesn't interfere with others, then by all means keep feeling and believing that way. But, if you use that bias to belittle and demean or potentially hurt others then you need a change in attitude or education.

Bias becomes a problem when it is used as justification to discriminate, dehumanize ,or to kill people.

Phobia is fear but I think I understand what you're trying to say. To me, bias/prejudice/favoring/disfavoring is all in the mind. They don't do anything if the person doesn't act (or purposely fail to act) because of them because they don't produce any real consequences.

I like to use an analogy for this.

Your mind is your room in a large apartment complex or a giant house. You're free to be as messy as you want behind your own door. You're not really affecting anyone else by harboring even the darkest, worst thoughts in your mind.

It's when you open your door and your mess spills out into the hallway and common areas (this is the shared space, the real world) that there starts to be a problem. One sock? A few candy wrappers? Most people are likely to walk past, tolerate it, and won't throw you out for it, although they still won't like it.

There's no guide for when that mess spilling out of your mind into the real world becomes too great. It depends on the tolerance of the individual observer.

This covers it pretty well. There's no way I could say it better than this. I tip my (imaginary) hat to you, sir.

All the time on t.v. and the internet. So many Americans are over sensitive about the stupidest things nowadays. When we see something that is offensive we complain and threaten the person or persons involved with a lawsuit involving discrimination.
