DMITRIV PENDRAGON
"It's called tough love dearie. We big brothers show our love by being an asshole to our younger siblings. " Caelum answering, looking smug, "see? Even the blondie over there agrees with me."

Dmitriv looked relieved when she said that, thankful that he wouldn't have to deal an angry customer because of Caelum.

"My brother has a penchant for trouble, but I'm pretty sure he's using that as an excuse to induce hell upon those poor lowlifes." He said nonchalantly, before shifting to his worker mode, politely taking the item and walking towards to the cashier's table for the item to be scanned. "This would be $10.50 please." He informed her.

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •
2ND REGIMENT GUARD OF THE ROYAL MILITIA
Amai wanted to roll her eyes once more, but refrained from doing so. Blondie. "You'll have to excuse me, I wouldn't know anything about tough love, or sibling things in general. And I have a name, it's Amai."

She slipped the wad of cash from her pink skirt and handed Dmitriv a $10 bill and a $1 bill. She didn't need the change, seeing as she would lose it. Tucking the rest of the money back. She couldn't help but want to stick around, it was lonely to not have family. Supposed thats why she guarded one, to keep theirs from facing the same loss. But she wouldn't say that, and she knew she should probably go back to her post or something after she got her face wash. It's not like she'd been needing this, but she wanted to contribute to their business.

"Suppose an excuse had some sort of truth. I'd take that.." She shrugged alittle.

As Fenna sat there, she felt a cool chill down her back. A sense of someone watching her. She pulled out her dagger, clutching it tightly out of fear. She didn't want to have to harm someone, but if she had to she would. She considered casting void shadow, but she knew that spell drained a lot of mana, and it also took a toll on her physical stamina, and she didn't know how much more she could run. Maybe fighting was her only option. But, what if it was that man again? She would stand no chance against him.

DMITRIV PENDRAGON
"Aww, you poor lassie." Caelum mocked, clutching his heart dramatically, before standing up and walking out of the store, after hearing his phone ring in his pocket, "gotta dash, peace out weirdos!"

"Say hi for me! Good luck on your date!" Dmitriv waved, before giving Amai her change, along side with the wrapped item in a paper bag, sealed shut by the stapled receipt on the front, "well, looks like my brother forgot to exchange the pleasantry. His name is Caelum by the way, and he's my older brother by seven seconds so he's not exactly my big brother so I don't know why he still uses that card. Probably for bragging purposes."

"If you don't mind me asking, you mentioned once that you're working at the Palace right? Are you part of the Militia?" Dmitriv asked. "Sorry for the abrupt question but I was curious."

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •
2ND REGIMENT GUARD OF THE ROYAL MILITIA

Amai squinted her eyes and mocked him when he got up to leave. "Don't fight your date, lad." Then she flipped her hair, per usual.

Then she looked back at Dmitriv. "He's definately something." An ass. "I am, The Second Regiment." She smiled. "It's nice, I guess." It was fun to her, because in training people would underestimate her because of her height. So it gave her an advantage when they slacked off or were busy mocking her. Blood Bending was fun too, she'd always use it at the end of a battle.

DMITRIV PENDRAGON
Dmitriv laughed, "that's mild, I was expecting a bit more harsh." he smiled, before his eyes widened, "whoa, that's so cool." He commented.

"Is it fun being in a royal militia? Are people nice? Do you actually go to the battlefield? What does it feel like working in the palace? Have you had conversation with the royal family up close?" Dmitriv fired question after the other. He stopped himself and rubbed his nape, embarrassed, "ah... sorry about that, just got excited and all, since this would be my first time talking to someone from Royal Militia and I was hoping to join after graduation but there's restrictions so I'd probably just listen to other people's stories."

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •
2ND REGIMENT GUARD OF THE ROYAL MILITIA
Amai's eyes widened at his rambling, and decided it best to speak when he needed to breathe. "We speak more amongst ourselves more than we do the family, unless we need to escort them somewhere. And as for battle, most of it only happens when we train. Even if there is no suspected threat, we can't slack off on our skills. We sorta have to be ready for anything, y'know?" She raised an eyebrow before resting a hand on her hip.

"Never apologize to anyone for something you feel. If you wish to join, you should. Their are three Regiments to choose from..." She said matter-of-factly. "And anyway, 2nd Regiment only guards the family that chooses to remain in the castle. Many of the King's Sons and Daughters venture off to rule something of their own. I'm only responcible for the Palace and who remains there. Nobody goes in without notification, identification, etcetera.. you get it." She shrugged. "Sometimes you even have to watch the inside workers carefully."

DMITRIV PENDRAGON
Dmitriv nodded, listening raptly. "So basically you guys are like body guards and very tight security system. With bad ass battle moves and cool weapons. Do all of you in the Second regiment use magic? Or just selected regiment? Or is it forbidden to use it, and could only be used when you're off duty?" He asked once again.

Dmitriv looked slightly at his hands, "well, I wanted to, but then I also wanted to become a Food Critic or Chef in the future, if my career as a painter doesn't work out. So I'm kind of conflicted. Then there's Caelum who doesn't want me to be one of you guys, even if mama and papa approves of anything that I wanted to pursue in the future."

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •

Dmitriv's comment made Amai smile, and even laugh alittle. "Basically. Our magic is allowed, but we are trained with weapons of choice as well in the event that using our magic is too risky."

Then she looked at him, her eyes narrowing. She didn't and could not understand. "The only person that can live your life is you. I don't mean to impose but, Caelum can live one life at a time. Whether you want to Paint, Cook, or Guard the King should be your choice.. would you be satisfied if you died in the life of someone else? Would you be satisfied?"

It never dawned on her why she was giving this life speach to a merchant she barely knew, but it felt right. Then she realized, this guy didn't exactly ask for her advice anyway. "Sorry." Her face flushed red before she looked away.

DMITRIV PENDRAGON
Dmitriv raised a fine brow, "whoa, easy there solider. Chill girl, chill." He chuckled lightly, 'nah, it's fine dude, I get your point, but it's not a chick flick moment kind of thing. It's like what-do-I-really-want-in-the-future type of thing, given that being all of those at once sounds reallytedious to deal with and I rather sit back and relax, total nerd mode on, and crap like that. Although Cae could shove his protest up in his obnoxious ass if he ever decided to tell me that I'm too lanky and weak to be accepted in the Royal Militia."

He raised his hand in dismissal, "but anyway, I'm still in second year and it's too early to think about depressing stuff, and my shift's nearing to an end, would you like to continue this conversation later? Given on the answers you gave me, it seems that people inside the Palace keep on a very tight schedule, I wouldn't want you to get fired just because I'm keeping you at the bay." He said, as the shop's door opened and Dmitriv greeted them with a smile and welcome!, "we could probably meet up in the downtown cafe near the bookshop if you'd like?"

Amai gave a smug grin, before saying "Eh, They need me." jokingly before flipping her hair and grabbing her bag. "A café sounds nice, I'm down for that." She momade sure to stay out of customers' way, and got to the door. "See you then!" She left out of the door and made her way back to the palace.

Her shift was Inside now, hallway patrol. Her being so small, Captain never noticed if she was gone for too long because she could be anywhere. And anyway, they had other people to attend to.

DMITRIV PENDRAGON
"Bye! See you!' He waved good bye, and five minutes after Amai left, he remember they did not set up the time for the meet up. Dmitriv groaned and face palmed, being a complete dolt of making new friends, Congrats, you idiot, he told himself sarcastically.

Dmitriv was finishing up the customer's order as the door opened again, his co worker going directly in the back to change and take over, finally ending his shift. Business was slow today and he's craving for Apple pie, so the cafe was really an excellent choice. He went inside the back room just as his co worked emerged from it, changing into his casual clothes, simple blue colored shirt, mint green cardigan, pair of black skinny jeans and checkered shoes. He grabbed his bag and headed down town, excited to eat.

Dmitriv settled down near the glass window pane inside the cafe, ordered a slice of apple pie and chocolate mint frappe whilst waiting for Amai. He took out his phone and logged in his account to see the latest happening whilst he's enjoying his snacks and waiting for the soldier.

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •
2ND REGIMENT GUARD OF THE ROYAL MILITIA

Amai checked cameras before putting her daggers on a shelf and leaving the palace. There weren't exactly shifts, but if there were enough people in perimeter she could leave. If they needed to call her back in they could, but for now she was off duty.
Outside, There was a horse and carriage moving through so she climbed on and rode it, hopping off when it got to the café. She'd been standing and walking for hours, she decided she could sit when she got to the cafe.

Once inside the smell of all the wonderful pastries hit her nose, and instantly her stomach growled. Sometimes she forgot to eat, aside from the fruit she ate in the mornings. Her eyes scanned for Dmitriv, And just as the greater asked "Do you need help finding-" "Found him, thanks." Trained to spot people out, she rarely needed the help.

She smiled and sat across from Dmitriv, flipping her hair behind her and noticing he'd been eating already. "I'm not too late, am I?" She grinned before waving a waitor over and ordering Chocolate au Pain, And an iced mocha. For some reason, chocolate croissants always gave her the feeling of home.

DMITRIV PENDRAGON

11
Dmitriv was so engrossed in silently fanboying that he didn't really realize that Amai was there until she spoke. He was startled and almost dropped his phone, clutching it as if it was his lifeline and gave her a smile that says he has no idea what she's talking about but it's his fault don't feel bad for him.

"Uh, no not really...? You're asking if you're late right? Sorry, I was casually checking up the latest update in the manga I've been reading." He said, taking a sip of his drink. "Your shift ended? That was pretty short, I guess?"

"Oh, uh, not to be rude but how old are anyway? I'm kind of worried that I might be talking so casually to someone who's twice or five years older than me and come off as a rude brat."

AMAI TEN CHIHATO •
2ND REGIMENT GUARD OF THE ROYAL MILITIA

Amai looked at him blankly, tilting her head slightly. Was this boy alright? His attitude made her was to knock the wind out of his chest one good time, but she didnt. Collecting herself, she said "Like I said, my shifts are weird. I didn't think it was that short of a time, however." She watched him carefully, he seemed sort of fidgitty to her. "I'm Eighteen."

Her body language tightened up, her eyes wandering to the waitor that brought her her order. "Thank you." She almost didnt want to touch her food yet, she didnt feel like the air was right suddenly. Was it her or Dmitriv? She slowly picked up her kife and fork, splitting the croissant in half and letting its' chocolate filling melt out.
