Izabel Laxamana Suicide
Posted 6/18/15 , edited 6/18/15

A beautiful 13-year-old girl with long and flowing black hair was publicly shamed by her father for an unknown offense. The father decided that a proper punishment for the offense would be to chop off her gorgeous black hair and post the video online. In the video it shows the girl with her newly chopped off hair as she stands next to a pile of her beautiful black locks on the floor. However, the public humiliation and punishment apparently took an emotional toll on the child, who jumped off a bridge onto a busy interstate just days after the video was uploaded online. Izabel Laxamana, who attended Giaudrone Middle School in Tacoma, Washington, exited the passenger’s seat of her grandmother’s vehicle, climbed over the bridge railing, and jumped “without hesitation” from the bridge before landing on a car below. The young girl had committed suicide.

And the father is facing no criminal charges.

Edit:
They said that her father might have abused her before, because he apparently tore up her clothes, broken her guitar, and other stuff. The school sorta apparently knew of this abuse, but failed to recognize it as abuse & report it. I think she was suicidal before this happened too. The public humiliation probably was more than enough push for her to finally end her life, since it said she didn't even seem to hesitate.
Ohh yeah, about the "unknown reason" behind her punishment from her father, I think it was because she posted a picture of her in a sports bra online.
Wow like, he couldn't just maybe cut off her internet or take her phone away for it?

Was there something wrong with the child mentally?

Fuck the father. Publicly shaming your kids its fucking awful and a horrible way to punish them. Your not fucking teaching your kids a lesson by throwing them to the fucking dogs your just being an asshole.

Touchy subject on suicide and all but I feel for the deceased girl and the dad he probably thinks he played a part of his little girl's death in some way. I was 13 once and I don't think I would of killed myself over my hair getting cut. Now, I think that girl had more going on than just "OMG my hair got cut I'm gonna kill myself." In no way shape or form do I think the dad should face criminal charges, he's already had something horrible happen to him and his family why fuck up the lives of the two other siblings (from what I saw in the picture) by trying to lock the dad up because his daughter made some bad choices.

Although it was not shown in the video, it was reported that her father had also cut her undergarments as well as destroyed some of her clothes.

The father is a psychopath. What I find even more disgusting about this story is that the police are blaming the victim and saying her psycho father did nothing wrong.

This reminds me of that other story a few weeks ago where a mother publicly shamed her daughter for a problem caused by her own terrible parenting. I hope that lady sees this story. Her daughter could have easily ended up like this.

First thought was "Well that was an overreaction".

But still sad.

I don't see why the father would face criminal charges, the punishment was extreme but I doubt he did any of it with the expectation his daughter would commit suicide. From the video captures on the Mirror's story it doesn't look like he shaved her bald and even he did, if that was the last straw for her I have to wonder what else was going on in her life.

something happened like that here in Texas. a mother told her daughter to stop dating a guy and she got mad, ran away, and jumped off a bridge. its really sad but i think the kid overreacted. something has to be wrong with the kids for them to do something like that

When you are 13 your peers are paramount and being embarrassed by your parent in front of them on the internet might make it worse. Probably has friends that don't get punished at all laughing at her and all that...

Bad parenting. It is always bad parenting when parents do this kind of thing. And I think this father should face criminal charges. He deserves punishment from a court of law.
