At 3 years old I was involved in a traffic accident that involved my front teeth impacting with the not so padded dash of a 53 Plymouth. When my permanent teeth started to grow in it looked like a historic reenactment reminiscent of shovel tusked Mastodons. This feature adapts itself well for eating sweetcorn but little else.I had orthodontics from age 6 until 21.

Never had nor needed them. I'm blessed with perfect teeth. It once made a friend jealous and even a dentist complimented them.

Yeah I had them from 5th grade to the beginning of 9th grade. I honestly didn't think my teeth were that bad until I got x-rays. Top and bottom teeth were protruding since my mouth was too small for all my teeth and my jaw was slightly crooked. I only had to get 4 teeth pulled to fix it. I got used to them pretty quickly and am glad I got them but there's no way I miss them. I have naturally small teeth, so having braces just multiplied how small they looked. At least I have good hygiene so my mouth never stank like a lot of others that get braces.

Yes, twice. Once in second/third grade, because the few permanent teeth I had coming in at that point were too crooked to wait to fix, and once in eighth/ninth grade for everything else. I still wear my retainer, because my teeth still start shifting back if I don't.

Yes from 2006-2012.

The day that my braces got removed, was the best day of my entire life.

Also I've always wondered if they're any anime character with braces?

There was this unnamed girl from Nisekoi that had braces. She only appeared once in the anime. I'm not sure if others exist.

I had braces as a kid. I didn't really wear my retainer all that much.

Since my braces had been removed, though, I have had all 4 wisdom teeth come into my head...and yes, they all fit and are still there. Also, one of my molars never came down all the way, which wans't known when my braces were still on. Also, as I've gotten older, my lower jaw has become more & more of an underbite.

That said, it's been over 15 years since I had braces & I still feel like I have brace cement on some of my teeth....

Same. Besides the space between my incisors is endearing, and it makes it easy to whistle.

I feel bad for him. His princess is always in another castle, so he has to make do with his ever growing harem of princess imposters while he searches for the real one. Actually, nevermind, screw him.

I only had them for one year, exactly. On and off on my birthday. From when I turned twelve to when I turned thirteen.

But I never really wore my retainers, so maybe it was kinda pointless. My teeth are straight enough, but I have an overbite for sure.

I had braces but i don't remember much.. i was around 8 years old... my only issue was with the retainer.. I had a spring concert where i was the lead singer for one of the songs.. the first day I was horrified because i was lisping my letter t's among other things... But by the time the concert rolled around i was fully proficient singing with the retainer on *by the way, i had one first that didn't come out*. Later when i got the removable retainer i went to McDonalds for lunch and put the retainer on the tray. My mom told me not to do that because people could see it.. So she's like "why don't you wrap it up in a napkin". Of course I followed her advice without thinking that through and the retainer was thrown out along with the food wrappings. I ended up losing it permanently and had to get a new one

Yes indeedy. Went a good 4 Years or so through the painful "valleys". Thankfully I came out scot free on the other side. But for anyone Out there who undermines the pain those medieval oral devices of torture are capable of causing...Well, I guess it's something only those who have actually gone through it can relate with.

Tl;Dr...Yes, and while efficient in their use, they are ALSO quite efficient at causing Oneself tons upon tons of wretched, lasting Pain over a period of many Years. However, for those willing to go through it, the aesthetic of Yourself as a Person gets QUITE the deserved benefit in the End.

I had them. Wore them for about 3 years to correct an overbite. When I was around 5, I fell off a chair and knocked out my two front teeth. When my permanent teeth came in, they were crooked. Four years after braces, I now wear my retainer about once or twice a week.

No but i really should have while it was free as a kid, i still want them kind of, but the concept of being a 20 year old with braces is a bit too dorky xD
