No but i really should have while it was free as a kid, i still want them kind of, but the concept of being a 20 year old with braces is a bit too dorky xD

I'm sure you'll still look good.

Yep. Four years of old-school railroad track style braces (top and bottom). I had overcrowding and a slight overbite so they removed four of my molars to make room and the braces were mainly to close up the spaces.

Thing was, this was back in the '80s and I was the first person in my school to ever have them. I underestimated my popularity because after I got mine in then about half the kids in my class got them. Maybe having the orthodontist put the bands in my house colors helped (go Clifton House!).

I frequently forgot, or outright didn't bother to wear my retainer and that came back to bite me (no pun intended). My orthodontist installed a permanent retainer. He had me so nervous about it that I didn't get it removed until two years ago even though most of it had broken off on its own!

Was it worth it? Well my teeth are straight, but the adhesive left stains on my teeth. *shrug*

Nope. Never needed them. I've had 2 teeth pulled because they misbehaved, but the rebel that I am, no braces.

the usual teeth at the front are pushed further forward, but i never decided to get braces when they were free. As long as it doesn't get worse I think I may be safe.

Two sets. Two times, in other words, top & bottom each time.

My teeth are pretty straight and I don't even wear my retainer anymore.

I hated those things. I hated the restrictions they had. I hated that they'd break if I ate too much (insert food here). I hated getting them on, and I hated getting them repaired or checked up on. They were nasty. Getting them removed was so relieving.

Yes I did. The rubber band things that you had to wrap around your braces we're very annoying. Also I hated the retainer so I stopped wearing it soon after I got my braces off. My teeth still look good to me. I honestly am glad I got braces though for the 2 years that I had them.

Hi guys, I'm 18 yrs old and I'm going to get braces ( http://www.shorttermbraces.com/services/short-term-braces/ ) soon from an orthodontic clinic in Houston. I have crowded top & bottom teeth and there are 2 teeth in front that are vampire teeth. And a little over bite. How long do you guys think my teeth can get fixed? Can anyone please give me an estimate of downtime?

Yes, I broke mine 23 times xD
They finally started charging me 25$ per bracket..
AND I had to wear a headgear.

I never really wore my retainer though.

I had to get braces twice. The second round I'm almost positive was for cosmetic reasons more so than anything. But I had the rubber bands, expander, head gear, you name it. I still have a permanent retainer glued to my bottom teeth, and a removable one for the top that I wear every night.
It pays off though in the end. I needed them and now my teeth are aligned right and doing great.

yep, i had bracers for about 1.5 years in year 9, i had a slight overbite or something... i don't think it was too bad. And now i still have wire retainers glued to the back of my teeth from like 5 years ago. Which although my orthodontist hasn't told me I assume will be on my teeth until i don't want them to be straight anymore? Iunno

Practically every kid in UK had them as we get it for free :)

I was really bad at wearing my retainer though but it didnt seem to matter as I have perfectly straight teeth

I had them and they sucked, never tried chewing aluminum foil when I had braces on. I heard people did and they felt like electric shocks in their mouth. lmao I thought that was stupid. I loved my retainers, though, they glowed in the dark.

Before braces my teeth were really bad so I really needed to get some, my teeth were croocked in the lower front teeth. Most of my teeth were just in random directions and it was just terrible. I got my braces 7th grade, first time i got my braces it hurt like hell the first month. I didnt look to shabby with braces on. I usually had to go to the orthodontist 2-3 a month because there were alaways problems with my braces. The wires on my braces would either hurt my gums because the wire was too long and it poked my gums. Also there were times were the bands would come off and I'd need to have that fixed. Because my teeth were really bad I had it longer than most people I had it up to four years.

No, I've never had to get braces, and it's likely that I won't need to in the future.

I only have one slightly crooked tooth, which is the bottom front one on the right side. Pretty sure it's got like that when I broke it on my friend's head.
