from what i know, wii's don't have to use HDTV's.... but if you do have a HDTV get a PS3 instead!

well, if you do decide to wii, always remember to wash your hands after playing with your wii...

I am planning on buying a Nintendo Wii, but I was wondering if the games look bad when using the Wii with an HDTV. I'm asking this because when I used my Gamecube with my HDTV the games looked bad.

I don't know if this is a repeated post, and if it is I apologize.

I suggest you buy a Lead HD AV Speedlink.

it makes the output slightly sharper.
it certainly makes certain textures in games such as 'Super Mario Galaxy' look amazingly detailed.
just look at the detail of the queen bee's fur...it looks even better with a HD output.

Meh, it depends on what kind of output you are using. If you are using a standard A/V, Yellow Red White, cable to do the outputting. Then yeah it might not look the greatest, but it most certainly does not look bad. But if you get a component cable,Blue Green Red Red and White, it looks much better. Keep in mind though that the Wii is an over-clocked gamecube, seriously the first batch of them were made from unsold gamecubes. So they are not designed for visual aspects, they are designed for the motion sensor control scheme. So when you compare it to a seXBox or a PS3, the PS3 that requires an HDTV, then yes it looks like crap. But overall it is not that bad.
