I'm down anytime man but i am not a good player lol. I'm mediocre at best but I'm getting better and improving. You could probably beat me in your stupor state as you have more experience lol

*laughs* age does not equal experience. Yes, I've played a few games in my time. But it's been a few years. I'm probably rusty. Your chances would be good. Or at least it'd be fun. And that's what counts, right?

Too abstract for me--
I can't strategize whether an opponent will move diagonally or vertically three moves from now, I'd rather have an intuitive sense for what he's going to do right away.
In which case, I'd rather take away his advantages one by one, and, like checkers, leave him with fewer and fewer defense options when surrounded.

So, I'm too direct and have no head for chess. Monopoly, OTOH...BWAAAHAHAHAAAA!!

Love chess. I think I just had a natural talent for it. I help form my middle school team some years back and we won the provincials in our first year. It was a great experience and was very intense.

I use to play competitively during that time. I was able to fight usually for bronze/silver in the provincial level. It was at the national level I realize how out of place I was. Natural talent could only take you so far against those with talent AND practice. I remember some families having a chess board in each room and playing all the time. I It was at that point I realize without practice I wouldn't go much further. Regardless it was some of the most memorable moments of my life and I made so many great friends and rivals.

Playstyle wise I enjoy the Rook the most. My weakest piece would be the Knight. The movement was alwyas offbeat to me and my least favorite. I would always gladly surrender my Knight for an equal piece.

I play casually these days with family and friends. I still retain that competitive spirit but I haven't bother entering any tournament in the near last decade. I don't think it would be quite the same without all the people I grew up with. Part of the enjoyment was facing the same people from across the province and duking it out and seeing who was better each time.

I used to be in a chess club in 1st grade. lmao It's fun. I often end up playing with AI most of the time now though.
I tend to try to balance it out sorta using both offensive and defensive strategies.

Chess is one of those games I don't really play often though. Just every once in a while.

I like chess. I'm not too good at it, but I can sneak a win in every now and then. I first learned how to play by just going at it on a player vs. computer game. then I learned it again my senior year of high school when I joined a Chess Club that had just formed. I've noticed I tend to like to send some pieces out to take out other pieces, and then I'll use the rest of my pieces to form a protective square around the winning piece.

what do you mean by controlling the middle? Also i like the knight as well but I'm not good at using it effectively get

If you control the center 16 squares, that is where most pieces travel through. By using pawns and a couple other pieces, you are able to force your opponent to use the 2 columns on either side, which your rooks can keep clean.

Edited to fix grammar.
