If you want to be good in chess you mostly have to learn the moves (then it could become way "easier" to play)
like do the Rook dance or queen double beam.

I know how to play chess, but that's about it. I play every now and then if someone wanted to play, but that doesn't happen often. I'd say I'm decent at chess for how much time I've played, but most people who have practice will probably beat me.

I haven't played chess in a long time due to no one wanting to play with me, but I love the way it uses your brain for logic and reason.

Haven't played it in years, but I enjoy the game. I suppose I could play the electronic version, but there's just something about playing with a real person...

What is your opinion on chess? Do you like it, why or why not? Also do you play competitively or for leisure. What is your strategy when you play and your favorite offensive and defensive pieces.

I like it, it's pretty fun, but only with others. I usually play for leisure.

Fav strategy is the lolli attack obviously

Favorite piece for offense and defense is the pawn

My friends got into in high school, so we played a lot at lunch etc, haven't touched it since. Still remember castling and en passant though.

what do you mean by controlling the middle? Also i like the knight as well but I'm not good at using it effectively get

If you control the center 16 squares, that is where most pieces travel through. By using pawns and a couple other pieces, you are able to force your opponent to use the 2 columns on either side, which your rooks can keep clean.

Edited to fix grammar.

Oh okay thanks, what pieces are usually used to control the center?

I think it's a great game but I rarely play.
fav offensive piece is the knight, I like how they jump around and my fav strategy is to start with them and force the other player to mess up their front line.
fav defensive piece is rook, I like how they can castle and I get two moves in one turn and with two i can out menouver a queen.

I like it, I've never played it competitive. My favorite piece is either the Knight or the Castle.

Used to play it a bit in highschool/college years but I'm not a big fan of it. Like most board games that don't involve "chance/luck/whatever" it's too easy to win once you know the rules and various strategies needed to get the upper hand. Intellect can only play so much into a game that is at its core simple and controlled. I'd much rather debate someone.

I know how to play but I suck. I find it to be too boring so I never played it extensively. It should go without saying that I don't really know any strategies because of this.

Queen is everyone's favorite piece. It's the best piece and does everything for you as long as you don't rush in recklessly and lose it. I also like the Knight pieces, but I tend to use them defensively.
