True Neutral (Sounds about right)

True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Lawful Neutral

Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society

I have no problem with my results.

You Are:

Chaotic Neutral

Chaotic Neutral- A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.

Everybody wants to be chaotic neutral. Those who can be are a step away from mentally ill.

I am neutral good. It's very difficult, you have to break bad news to people even if evil prevails because of it.

Whims exist and rarely make things better. Chaotic neutral is the most destructive alignment, and the most important. I can't leave you behind. I need you right here with me, acting upon your neutral alignment. An evil choice must be derided. I hope those chaotic neutrals are not neutral evils lying to themselves, there is little difference.

I think what we "have" to do really depends on the situation. I don't believe in always doing something or always not doing something, since there is usually a whole host of circumstantial factors that you must weigh before making a choice and morality is often very subjective. I know life is not so easy that I can just always do something or never do something. I can't just "autopilot" through it; it's all about balance. The principle should not usually matter more than the outcome, IMO. What good is doing something if it produces no results? And what good is it to be a saintly person all the time if you never get to enjoy your own life and end up dying early?

The truth is that everyone works primarily for himself/herself. To guard yourself against people who will use you, you can't afford to be too predictable or too linear in your thinking. Practicality is usually more important than pure morality, even if it's just slightly more important. You don't need to be greedy, but it's not practical to be too selfless.

Took the test twice - first answering as a character in an RPG, second answering as myself.

For character answers, I came out Lawful Neutral
Seems to make sense. I'd say it describes the types of characters I tend to make. Or rather, it's the kind of background I tend to go for.

For personal answers, I came out Lawful Good
Also kind of makes sense. I'd imagine most people would be lawful good in reality just because of the way these types of alignment quizzes ask questions.

I'd say I'm Lawful, teetering on the boundary between Good and Neutral. I have a high sense of honor with elevated moral standards, but will not blindly follow anything, even my own established morals. If I find evidence contrary to my precepts, I will re-evaluate them. This could either reaffirm my stance or lead me to change it.

I also just took the test the OP posted, and it was right on! The only thing I'd disagree with is that it states I don't have an evil bone in my body, when I assure you, I do. (which is what made me lean to neutral)
