My name is Chris.

Yeah, boring huh!

You drive a white car? Cause I'm looking for a Chris with a white car.

The name I use is just as important to me as my real name. If people choose to use my real name online I don't stop them. As for personal information I have no problem pretty much giving out anything except probably a phone number since calls could affect other people at the house and not just me.

Eleanor is my real name, but I have always been called Philomena. Personally I prefer Eleanor, but I'm stuck as a girl everyone calls Phil because they can't say "Philomena" fast enough when they are yelling at me! Go figure...

How do you feel about using your real name online?

I think it's a bad idea, it gives too much information.

Do you use it?
Why don't you want to?
Do you not have any personal information (location, age, sex)?

I only use it around those I can truly trust.
If I can't trust them I don't want to.
I don't mind saying my age or sex, location I keep it vague like HB since it's an entire city.

I don't like giving personal information to people I don't really know. My username works fine to know new people on the internet.

The only information I'm not comfortable sharing online is my number and address. Pictures too I guess.
Especially if I'm on forums & stuff like this I'm bound to attract some creepers (I hope that didn't sound offensive)
Everything else idc

Creeper here no offense taken.

I don't see a problem with just letting people online know your first name at least, mines in my bio

Go hang out with some car guys, they'll remember Eleanor....

As to the original question.... I don't really use my real name online, at least not in a way that would show up on a Google search. My facebook and linkedin account with my real name is pretty limited with what gets put on there.

I actually do not use mine, but I do you an alias. so I do not make up seventy different names to use across the board. my log in name tends to be a combo of my real name and a special number, whereas my seen name (or what I go by) is the alias. I also do not fake my photo I simply use an anime photo or a celebrity (but not as an impersonation), or even my real face haha

I like to keep my internet identity and my real life identity separate.

I have some controversial opinions, I'd like to know how people react to these opinions and the internet is the perfect testing ground for that. You try to play devil's advocate about a sensitive matter IRL and you are going to get hurt.

I usually wear a mask in real life. It's just easier to deal with people that way. When you tend to not be quite as emotional as other people, showing them your lack of emotion tends to get quite intimidating. It angers them and drives them away.

I always use my real name online because it's such a big part of what it is that I do. By virtue of the career that I've chosen, my name has to be out there.
