I for one actually have no problem with this. First of all someone who is blind will most likely have the same common sense we have, so its not like they are going to pull a gun at a random time. The only time this could become a problem is if a person who was blind actually needed to use a gun in self defense. However, some legally blind people can still see and could probably aim well enough that no innocents will get hurt.

Take this scenario: A man is on a shooting rampage and a legally blind person has a gun, first a standoff may occur with pointed guns and this standoff may be enough to stop the shooter at least until police arrive. On the other hand the blind person may actually shoot, in which case the only person in harms way is the opposing shooter as everyone else would have run away. Same thing goes for a knife, or any other weapon for that matter.

The only reason I can see a problem is for truly blind people as the only thing they can do is point in the general direction of sound, it is unfortunate but all they could really do is threaten. They might not even point in the right way, but I think that is highly unlikely. Even so I do not think that this will necessarily put anyone in harms way either as even if they fire the gun everyone should have run away by then (Or at least gotten out of the general area the bullet will hit.)

I think in the name of fairness they should be issued drivers licenses too.In the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king.

I don't mind. I've seen plenty of gun owners who can't shoot for shit... might as well be blind. Besides, guns are mostly a deterrent anyways.

I guess it prevents blind people from being charged for carrying a firearm in some cases, but there are certainly better ways to achieve this if this is the purpose.
