So what do you think? Is the Affordable Care Act , (Obamacare),here to stay?Does it represent the first step towards national health and a better life for millions, or creeping socialism that destroys the very fabric of American Society?

Supreme court will likely rule in its favour. And I'm gonna go with "creeping socialism"...

Eh, it's one of the good parts of socialism, so it's not a very bad thing. So many people don't have healthcare and it's mandatory.

Everyone should have health care by default if they pay taxes and are law abiding. It shouldn't even be a question.

I come from a country that has had socialized medicine since before I was born. I find the current American model to be quite alien and frightening. As a health care provider myself I can't imagine having to measure out the bandaging i apply so that the patient can be appropriately billed.

I fear the creeping fascism in my own government that would like to tear down our health care system in favour of an american one.

As soon as Obama is out, they'll revert to the same old unaffordable system. People will be getting screwed over no matter what "coverage" they have. The might even start charging for candy given to children, the bastards.

I still take my free sucker whenever I go up to the desk. I should just take a handful though.

I'd say it's the latest defeat in the Republicans' "Keep heckling/stonewalling the Democrats so Bill Clinton doesn't come back again" quest, to avenge Reagan's cruel defeat by history when Bush Sr. dropped the ball. (They still blame Bill for it.)

Now they just have to keep looking for that Kenyan birth certificate.

It could be looked at as a Republican victory because if the decision had gone the other way there'd have been 15-20 million voters that probably wouldn't be electing a GOP candidate for president. To put that in perspective the NRA has 4-5 million members. The Kenyan birth certificate is in the same place as the proof for the Clinton's wrong doing in Whitewater .

It was an easy call. The plaintiffs had no case.

I don't buy the doom and gloom. Most other Western countries have a universal healthcare system, and we're supposed to be better than the rest of the world at everything, so why can't it work for us?

Look, the chargemasters and general medical costs in this country are insane and ACA doesn't solve the problem at the root. I'm all for socialized healthcare but how about we get the real thing instead of this farce? Our healthcare was and still is a joke.

I'd love for us to go to a true universal system, but those pesky Republicans won't stand for it. We'll have to make due with this for now.

I like what they were trying to do but the market reacted in a way that I personally expected. For my family the coverage went down and the prices went up. It sucks but I do understand that it helps even things out for people who couldn't afford the minimum before.

I wish we had some politicians with the guts to push for the unpopular things like raising taxes to improve infrastructure and of course fix our healthcare. Unfortunately politics have been reduced to marketing campaigns and money dominates marketing. I don't think that our corrupt politicians are a result of malice so much as it is a result of ignorance. They are too easy to manipulate.

This state particularly is funny. I can tell the instant I enter Texas because suddenly the road is a silky smooth ride
