Cute read.

There was a noticeable lack of irony and disdain in the article so I wasn't too surprised to find the author was an anime fan herself. Though nothing here was really informative to those within the community, it'll probably provide an interesting insight for others.

I'll just quote this inspiring passage

“My girlfriend knows of my waifu, and she’s fine with it because she has waifus of her own,” said Kim. “Even if I get a wife in the future, Asuna will still always be my waifu.”

Claps, claps.

Me: Even if I get a wife in the future, Onodera will still be my waifu.

Onodera is love. Onodera is life.

She probably sees it as a plus knowing that if he ever brings up the subject of a three-way the partner will probably be one of their 2 pillows...errrrr...waifu.

I've never really been so obsessed with one single anime girl to have a "waifu" (but i guess i was pretty into Mugumi from Urotsukidoji in my early-mid teens).
I always found that i may buy a wall scroll and/or a figure or two of a particular character but then another one comes along.
I dunno i very rarely buy anime merch now a days (went through a phase where i bought too much) but i'd prefer to have merchandise of multiple characters as opposed to just shit loads all of the same one.

Is $500 a lot to spend on a hobby when the person being interviewed has an income?
also you should know the quality of the site as soon as you enter because it has "thought of the day".
I think forbes needs to mind it's own business or research something more important.

Adults who already devote their hobbies to anime and cartoons are more likely to get crushes on these fictional characters because they expose themselves to them more often. However, Rosenberg observes that it doesn’t make their feelings necessarily less healthy than those of people with crushes on real people.

Always thought I was an oddball for spending $$$ on 2d characters, guess I'm a healthy person after all. This is a positive article, thumbs up.

Your right, $500 is bugger all. I could spent that on a night out drinking, or at the casino, or at at srip club, etc
Shit even a good GPU for my pc could cost double that.

This article seemed like "meh we need to do a piece on some niche culture" but hey, at least I know it's A-OK to marry a body pillow! Oh wait, they didn't mention anything like that, since the article was so...shallow.

As awesome as Rin is, the last chapter still didn't sit right with me, but hey, all the other 90+ were awesome

A little bit more on topic: Japanese women are into a gorilla. http://news.yahoo.com/women-flock-japan-zoo-see-hunky-gorilla-044739619.html
I don't think that hug pillows are that terrible in comparison
