Vampiric hijinks ensue as the Actually, I Am anime gets added to our Summer line up!

Episodes will be broadcast every Monday starting July 6 at 11:30am Pacific Time, in the following territories:USA, Canada, America, Central America including the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Should that be "South America" there?

TMS, always a mess with the regions when it announces the series, always put Central America, South America, Latin America in ads.

I hope that isn't the actual number of shows they're going to get, because that's a scary amount of boxes...

Based on past seasons, those boxes are for all their simulcasts, including the continuing ones. I believe they will have 6 continuing series, which would leave slots for 13 new ones.

As far as I know, rights are often sold for 'the americas' as a unit, so every time FUNi gets a rights package like that, that's when Latin America gets locked out, especially since Funimation tends to only sublicense to companies that are not their direct competition on the US market, and CR is the only game in town in Latin America. Also, sometimes FUNi seems to be getting worldwide rights to their shows, which obviously affects everyone outside the US negatively.

Same thing tends to happen in Scandinavia, which is often lumped in with UK/Ireland as 'english-speaking europe' and until last season had no CR competitor for FUNi to sublicense to. Viewster's recent acquisition of BBB could be a sign that that issue is going away for us, though, if I'm right to suspect that FUNi is sub-licensing that show to Viewster.

Your theory about FUNimation not licensing to direct competitors is wrong, Viewster is active in the United States (albeit to a lesser extent than Europe). I could be wrong, but I think some of their FUNi simulcasts streamed there in the US too.

I don't believe after their three initial titles, that Viewster has actually licensed anything from FUNi since, there's Ultimate Otaku Teacher and Ninja Slayer in the UK, but neither has the FUNi logo at the beginning like Death Parade did. Although both were available on Viewster in other territories first, so they probably just reused those versions that didn't come from FUNi.

Viewster tweeted about BBB and mentioned Anime Limited's twitter feed in a reply to somebody. So, we don't know, but it looks as if Anime Limited has it for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, or maybe whoever mans Viewster's twitter feed just really likes them?

Oh, I didn't know they were active in the US, that changes that for sure. There doesn't seem to be a way to find out what Viewster has available outside your own territory, so I can't see it myself, but it would be interesting to find out if they share any shows with Funimation in the US. But since they still don't seem willing to sublicense to CR, maybe Funimation simply doesn't consider Viewster a threat?

Well, Viewster specifically announced that they will be streaming it: https://twitter.com/viewster/status/613688416706928640 You're right that it's probably licensed through Anime Limited, going by the tweets, which would be the same arrangement as a few other spring shows. The reason I was speculating that it could be coming through Funimation is honestly that it's coming THIS late in the season, which suggest very long negotiations were involved. Seraph, Plamemo and Arslan were not nearly as delayed.

God Eater is a no-go. Aniplex USA already has that.

More to the point, it is a Daisuki exclusive.

I don't know why anyone would complain about Funi getting titles. Unlike here, all their apps actually work, on all their platforms, and also their customer service is functional and not garbage. Also, they're cheaper. It's a win-win.

However, they usually include broadcast dubs in their simulcast list, and if that's the case, the number of open boxes left is pretty small, because they're still doing a bunch of Spring shows, so I hope they aren't including the ones that aren't still running otherwise, like Seraph and AssClass. :/

Perhaps because they live outside the US or Canada.

Their mystery boxes normally list the continuing simulcasts, but I doubt the simulcast dubs would result in any continuing titles being listed twice. As an example, this is how their completed lineup looked for spring 2015:

It should also be noted that their continuing simulcasts is usually their first seasonal announcement.

Not yet.
It doesn't air until July 7th though, so chances are it'll be an AX announcement for someone (CR ... Sentai... FUNi) since AX is before then.
