Getting ready for college?
Posted 6/25/15 , edited 6/25/15
So, I'm 24 and I wanna go to college.
It will have to be online college since where I live is pitiful for jobs and I can't move away unless I make more money
with a college education
or certification anyway.

So...How do I college? )x
I know you gotta go to their website and click "enroll"
but there's a FAFSA thing and a Financial Aid thing and a Grant possibility
and I have no idea where to begin.
Halp me.

Edit: "College checklist" in Google brings me to Bed Bath and Beyond for some reason.

You are doing a better job than me. I pretty much gave up on the ability to go to college because I screwed myself and so has life. I don't have any info to give you but for whatever reason I wanted to say that you wanting to go to college still is a great thing. Idk sorry for the random reply but I hope you get it figured out! Well if this is a serious thread at least.

Here is a good site: https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/

First you should decide which college you want to go to, and for what. After narrowing down your choices, apply for each. Apply for FAFSA (https://fafsa.ed.gov/). If eligible, apply for state tuition assistance. You might want to sign up for spring '16 or fall '17 semester since classes are pretty much closed for fall 16.

u might want to decide on a career before you start going or at least have a general idea of what major you want to do before deciding on a school. u'll also need to find out if they have ur major for an online track, not all degree can be done online.

theeen apply for financial aid & try calling the admissions office of the school you want to go and advisers can help you out and guide you along.

also you can apply for fall if you want, online courses usually don't close out until the week before they start and most of them are on compressed schedules so you'll have like 3 or 4 sessions during a semester.

just make sure you go to a real school and not some for-profit school like phoenix and ones like that. I'd look into unis in your state 1st.

What are you interests? Perhaps a trade school could be a possibility. Especially since you are looking to graduate quickly and find a better job.

If you email or call the Admissions office for a local college, someone there can help point you to the appropriate resources and give you information about all the necessary deadlines.

Just pick a college that's about the right level of school you want to attend. If you got mostly A's in high school, and want to go to the best college you can possibly get into to, then go talk to a local private school. Otherwise, I'd start with a local state college or community college. Even if you don't end up applying to that particular school, they can still offer you advice suited to your particular needs and point out good local options for test prep, and assistance filling out the myriad forms that you'll need to complete.
