For anyone who has played the game, how hard is it to play the game in general? Is it like DBZ/Naruto hard? Or is it like One Piece Unlimited World Red where it was fairly easy to play and finish the game?

Just wondering because I've been thinking of getting this game since it's out in English, and since none of the Rurouni Kenshin games came out in English, and Kenshin Himura himself is in this game, I really wanted it since the other Shounen Jump characters I know are in it too.

Gameplay is pretty simple, shallow and easy to the hang of. but still fun. I originally had the Japanese version and I was able to understand it. As for difficulty I'd say it's mild. If you're doing story mode some of the end battles are a little frustrating since it gives you some nasty handicaps. But for the most part the game was a breeze.

From what I remember after one play through you should have enough J-points to unlock most of the characters.

Also if you're interested in being introduced to other Shonen series this game is a great gateway for that. It opened me up to shows like Assassination Classroom, Disastrous Life of Saiki-kun & Gintama, It also inspired me to go back and watch older shows like Yu Yu Hakusho and Kenshin.

I didn't play any online, but the single player had me busy for awhile. You get to sail around on a ship and visit all the Shonen locations and carry out missions. There's 4 story arcs which are mainly the same but you get to play through with different character. Plus it has a card system that lets you build decks to boost your fighters.

Cool! I'm fine with the harder levels since I wouldn't want the game to be too easy, so a challenge is fine. ^^

Thanks for the reply! And who knows? Maybe I'll be introduced to some new Shounen series I haven't heard of yet, and maybe even give it a try.

It's not represented in J-Stars yet, but I recommend Black Clover. If you can handle your shonen being a little on the tropy side you'll definitely like it.

I mainly bought this game because it featured characters from Hunter x Hunter. It's been over a year since I've touched it. I didn't really like the fighting mechanics. The campaign was interesting, though.

I'll consider it. There's also a lot of Shonen Gangan and Shonen Sunday titles I haven't discovered yet. (the only Gangan title I know and love is Fullmetal Alchemist, and the only Sunday title I know and love is InuYasha; Rurouni Kenshin is the only Shonen Jump series I truly love, though I've tried Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, & D.Gray-man before, and I've been tempted to try Dragon Ball and Fist of the North Star at one point)

Hopefully I'll still enjoy it, even if the fighting mechanics are a little off. ^^

Such a fun game, it was easy to get used to but if you think you were just gonna hop online and destroy everyone man you were wrong. It was amazing though, me and a buddy used to be some of the highest ranked players in the world, never a boring match for us but we had to learn how to make the best of each other's abilities and skills which was also cool. Playing story was also a really fun thing to do, it's been so long since I've played, I should try getting it again.
