I was watching the news today and they were talking about the people who finished high school and how they are now multi millionaire, successful and that. And they said that you neednt to go to uni or have lots of money to be successful and how they already have their own business while their friends are racking up thousands of money for loans.

Although i agree to it, but still people need to go to college not only to be successsfull but primarily because they have chosen a career that needs extensive training which can only be achieved in Universities. I mean you cant be a doctor if you dont go to uni coz that will be dangerous to you and others.

I want to know what people think of it. Do you need to go to Uni to be successfull or not?

No you don't need to go to a University to be economically successful; however being at a University helps you discover who you are, helps you establish social networks that will help a lot for your field, pushes your limits (which is always a good thing), and if you really make the most of those years not only it expands your horizons and gives you academic knowledge, but it also provides many of the most precious memories of your life, and helps you become an educated and morally responsible citizen.
(That is if you take it as seriously as I do; there are still plenty of people only interested in getting a passing grade. It's their loss not mine. )

People who complete college make more money on average. Only a small percentage of people are successful without going to college. If you think you don't need college, then maybe you don't. It all depends on the person.

You don't HAVE to go to uni to be successful.
I mean you can go to tafe... and other forms of study.
You can work your way up from a cashier to a manager of Safeway. I mean you don't really need uni for that right?

But i hear alotta stories about people who didn't have good enough grades to get into uni, but they still earned heaps of cash.

and also, i guess everyone has their own definition of being successful

don't be stupid and believe in a stupid fat nazi english teacher like the one i had. She said "If you don't get above 30 (study score ) for English, go flip burgers at McDonalds"

Omg...thats no teacher. I had the same teacher and shes suppose to be a career advisor... and she said things that are so discouraging and i still wonder how she got that job. Thats why i wanna become a teacher but definitely not like her. I feel sorry for those young people at my school...

ive encountered some dim people myself working at mcdonalds years ago, i met a lady who'd worked there for near a decade, but while she wasn't too intelligent, she was one tough bitch. That's all you need to be in life, one tough son of a bitch, if you are at least that, you can probably overcome any adversity, unless its a firing squad.

"NO YOU'RE TOO FAT! YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT"
