Kona coffee one is the best one but I don't eat these very much.

I tend to like plain mochi with no fillings. I dislike the sweet kinds. I eat mochi for the texture, not really for the flavor.

Why would you not mochi?

Making it is the most fun though. Albeit tiring.

Mochi ice cream is good, I like the strawberry ones. But most types of mochi are good.

Whether they have azuki beans or not, it is still good. Whether it has ice cream or not it is still good.

Fried it is also good, especially with some kinako.

And now that you mention it, tonight would be a good night to mochi.

Perhaps I shall pick some up on the way from from Don Quiote or Marukai. Or maybe I'll just make some kinko mochi when I get home.

I like all ice cream flavors, but I prefer to eat daifuku, mochi with red bean filling.

I'll always pick mochi. My favorites are green tea ice cream mochi, plain mochi, and lemon daifuku, though I've never seen the last one out side of Japan.

My aunt used to buy massive amounts of taiyaki. She never ate them for some reason and stored them in the freezer. Since I hate to see perfectly good food go to waste, I tried my best to eat them. There was always at least 2 or 3 packs of taiyaki in the freezer, each pack containing 8 pieces. I told her to stop buying them if she wasn't going to eat them but she would just say that she was going to eat them.

Anyway, after like 2 years of doing this, I am sick of azuki forever. That sickly sweet flavor, a sweetness that smothers and overwhelms....that unmistakable taste. I'll probably kill someone or go crazy if I ever eat another red bean again. Azuki...it's always the same thing. The torment is unrelenting. And, to this day, she keeps buying taiyaki. The old stuff gets composted in the garden, the new stuff takes the newly available space. I do not understand. Red beans are the devil's seed.

Hahaha, reminds me of my late grandmother who would buy too much dorayaki, but since my family were big eaters, we'd be able to eat it all. I know how you feel though, I got sick of azuki at one point too and would just eat the pancake part. Actually, I'm still not that fond of it, but I enjoy dorayaki or daifuku every now and then for the childhood nostalgia. I'm like "ah, this is the taste."

Red bean, strawberry, and plain with sesame seeds for me. I tried kinako ones once and found the taste was not to my liking.

I read the wiki on mochi. Sounds interesting. Also, the health warning on the bottom about the choking hazard. Lol
