It was in the Summer when I was a child. My family is Filipino so my parents had a strong belief in Ghosts, because of this they think that my brother can see them. In our old house my brother started crying because someone was playing with his toy truck, we obviously didn't know who considering most of his friends were asleep at the time. I went into the garage only to find his toy truck used. As soon as I saw it I had sudden chills... I ended up pretending I didn't see it.

After a few more supernatural stories with my brother we ended moving to another home. The steps repeated but this time my cousin was involved. My brother said that 2 of his friends were still in the garage and I was thinking about our neighbors at the time. But keep in mind it was around midnight at the time. My cousin ends up screaming, my cousing is 31 T_T so it was a loud and embarrassing scream. But he pro-claims that he heard children laughing. One again the chills came. I ended up keeping a distance from my brother and he told me that his friend has his ball. My mom looks at him with a scared face and asks for the details, when he tells her it she ended up frightened because she realized that it was the same ball she gave him when he was 3. She was scared because she knew there was no way he could remember such details.

Years past by and my brother stopped having these events, I'm a bit glad but I can't stand being alone in the house anymore.

If this is off-topic, sorry about that.

My family has a ton of supernatural/paranormal stories, but I can't think of one that happened to me personally that stands out among the rest. I guess moving into my current house was pretty creepy. Especially that dream I had when I was 11. /queue long post

My current house has always had it's fair share of mysteries and creepy things lurking silently in it's dark corners. From the ruins and creepy drawings in my bedroom closet to the long, spider-infested crawlspaces in my underground basement, there's never a lack of things to explore. But none are as ominous as our previous owner and her kids. I remember when my family bought the house around the age of 4 or so, and I can still picture the serene quietness of the hallway and the owner's face, it being one of my earliest memories. She had her fair share of money, so she was well off in that way, but you have to feel bad for the lady when all three of her husbands passed away, leaving her as a widow multiple times throughout her life. With her final husband, she had had two kids, a young boy and a young girl around the ages of 10 and 13 respectively. This lady clearly couldn't catch a break, as they both died in a car crash while under the care of their uncle one night. You'd think she'd be sour after all these misfortunes, but she was very sweet, having loved all her husbands and her kids very much. Now, my mom always has had some kind of sixth sense. She knew that there was some kind of spirit in that house. But she also knew it wasn't malicious or anything like that and the place really just felt "right."

It took a while for the paranormal things to start happening, about 5 years to be more specific. It all started when my mom's friend and her kids visited one day. My house is three stories with the basement, so while the adults chatted away downstairs in the living room, the kids, around the ages of 3-6, played upstairs. Everything was normal until they came downstairs and were talking about the boy they were playing hide-and-seek with up there. The adults found this pretty interesting, as, like I said, I was NOT home, and there was nobody else upstairs. My mom, forever the weirdo, was very calm about it. Her friend however, was not. To this day she will not go upstairs in our house.

That's when it all started. But it just gets more interesting from there. I'll get to the dream I mentioned at the beginning of the post.

Usually I forget my dreams. This one, I couldn't forget if I tried. I knew right from the beginning that the dream was pretty abnormal, as the beginning consisted entirely of me walking around my house with no apparent goal. Nothing particularly strange happened until I started looking into mirrors, something my house has a lot of. I'd notice writing on the wall, giving me a sinking feeling in my stomach even though I wasn't even awake. Then I decided it would be a good idea to head upstairs. That's when I saw the boy. He was well-kept, dressed nicely, and had mid-length brown hair. I remember talking to him, but this WAS like 5 years ago so I don't remember all the details. Last thing I remember was some girl literally flying at me, getting stopped by the boy. I woke up staring into my alarm clock. Exactly 5:00 am. Being a whiny little CHILD, I ran downstairs in tears to my mother and told her about the boy in my dream. Apparently I described the previous owner of our house's late son, the one who I was talking about at the beginning. I'd assume it was the same boy from the story about my mom's friend. After that we burned sage and sprinkled holy water in my room. Seems a little drastic now, but whatever works, I guess.

Just a few years ago, the lady passed away. Every since, that feeling of the spirit being there is gone, and we haven't seen anything related to that since. I like to think of it as she's with her husbands and kids now. May they rest in peace.

My family useto live in this big brown house, downstairs was finished besides one room, which was the den. Last room on the right, down a long hallway. My family said that if you keep a room messy, that's where spirits are attracted. You know, always thought they said that because they just wanted us to clean our rooms. My brothers room would be kinda messy, and every time I would walk by it, this tall black shadow would be at the door just standing there. I've seen this thing like numerous times. Then my brothers friends saw a little girl with a white dress and long hair by the den, didn't believe them until a few months later, I went downstairs and saw her... I just turned around and acted like I didn't see anything, but I wanted to cry.

I just remembered this one.

Years ago I was at a sandwich shop in the town I was living at and noticed a guy that graduated high school the year before me in line in front of me. I smile and greeted him, only to be met with a look like he saw a ghost.

Which, to him, he just saw.

Seems that somehow it got around to some people I was killed a couple years before seeing him standing in line. I don't know how that rumor got started, or got around, since this was pre-internet days, but it scared the unholy crap out of this guy who thought I was dead. Thankfully I have set the record straight once facebook came around.

Or maybe I really am a zombie.

You see, my neighborhood is one that circles a... rather small sized lake. This type of lake isn't one of those natural ones that you see in other places, rather it's a lake that is used by farmers nearby, but lets the neighborhood use for the usual things like swimming, boating, wind surfing and all that jazz. One day a boat showed up near my neighbor's back yard. The water was a simple... jump from the yard. Any way this boat was one they had never seen before on the lake. Yet here it was sitting next to their dock. They went around the neighborhood asking if anyone knew whose boat it was. Nobody knew.

Now... the thing about lakes like this, is that the water level changes at the blink of an eye. So after a few days the water level receded leaving the boat pretty much on their yard. This particular summer the water level sunk to a level that it had not sunk to in years, leaving a large amount of space to walk on the sand-ish sediment. So me and my neighbor decided to walk around the place. You could see plenty of interesting stuff. Old shoes half buried in the sand, abandoned anchors left around, even a random wooden wheel that was so buried that it couldn't be dug out. Exploring the dunes of sand, we come across this boat that had capsized and was stuck in the sand entirely upside down. Feeling a sense of discovery and potential loot, we attempted to dig the boat out of the sand. Needless to say it was so stuck that it was futile to even begin to dig it out. But... as we dug, the boat started to look really familiar.

It an almost exact match to the boat that had drifted near my neighbor's back yard. Heading back to check, we both agreed... it was an exact match. Later on in the day we continued to ask about the boat. Our interests visibly peaked with the overall mystery of it all. Showing a picture to one of the many old folks in the neighborhood we discovered that the boats were a type of model that had come out in the 1930's. The boat at the time was more than seventy years old!

Realizing that such old antiques could sell for quite a hefty sum, we went digging through my neighbor's garage for shovels and any other tools to dig the overturned boat out. Looking for those shovels through the many piles of crap layered everywhere covered in cobwebs, we found a framed color picture of a middle-aged man standing in a boat exactly like the one we were going to dig out. The picture was incredibly dusty and had small carving that said 'Joe, 1947'. My neighbor asked his mother about this photograph, and it turns out that the photograph was of an ancestor of theirs that had been presumed dead after a late night boating trip.

At this point both of us were pretty freaked out, but still excited with the sheer mystery of it all! It was a hard night to try to sleep, I don't remember if it was the excitement or the terror, but I do remember one thing...
The next day... that picture frame shattered into many, many pieces for no good reason, and both boats... disappeared.

One time I had a dream in 3rd grade or so that I was grown up, had a job, and a decent life. I was going for a late night jog when I was jumped and stabbed to death. Next thing I know the dream goes black and my brain shuts off. Like I could tell I was sleeping but there wasn't any dreaming just black. Idk, only time something like that happened, especially with all the details. It felt real.

I remember the stories of my friend's first house in the U.S. and how it was haunted. I don't know all the details but, both of the parents and brothers remember the ghost. They said it was an older looking man he wore a Hawaiian shirt, black shorts and sandals. He wasn't a solid figure because he was transparent and had a dark cloud around him. He wasn't hostile but they recall seeing him walk between the halls all the time and sometimes he stood in the doorway and watched you sleep. The craziest story they have from the house was when the younger brother was sleeping. His mom told me that they woke up to him screaming "The man won't let me out!" in the middle of the night while he was huddled in the corner of the room crying.

The final one is just a rumor from a home near my cousin's house. The story goes that there is a father and 3 daughters living in a house. I think the girls loved the house but, the father is trying to move and sell it. Whatever the reason, all three daughters hang themselves in a triple suicide in the home. After the incident the home becomes abandoned and homeless begin using it as a shelter. From what I heard you hear voices and screaming of 3 young girls all through the house. I know the suicides did happen but, I don't know if the ghost stories are true. It wouldn't surprise me though since such brutal deaths occurred there.

I was in the back seat of the family car driving on the main road when suddenly we had to stop. There was a bunch of cars stopped ahead of us and when I looked out the side window , I could see why. A car had crashed and was on fire. I was only a kid at the time, but I can still remember clearly watching in horror. The family was still in the car and were burning alive and I could see it happening right in front of me. There happened to be some travelers in caravan's parked along that road, and they were all running to the car with buckets of water until the fire brigade arrived.

I still think about those poor people every now and then, and it was traumatic at the time.

Working in safety in the oil field I see a lot of videos and pictures of accidents. Mainly people losing fingers and the like and to the few accidents I been to the worst one in my opinion had to be when a 2000 lb slab of cement fell off the crane and smash a guy that was foolish enough to walk underneath a suspended load. By the time I got there they were picking up the slab and most of the guy body was stuck to it. With the wind and movement most of the guy parts flew towards us and let me just say i'm glad i'm not the one that washes my uniforms. That is one incident I would never like to see in my lifetime.

This is a great idea! I have nothing to share but I am looking forward to reading these lol.

This is a really good thread to start. I'm really into strange stories.

I don't know if this story fits here but maybe some people have strange reoccurring dreams? I think they do reflect real life stuff though. For example:

I hate when I have teeth dreams. I'm always intentionally pulling them out because they're so easy to pull out, that it's annoying me to have them there. They usually look like baby teeth too. Then I get super anxious about what people would say and try to put them back they just look horrible and then crumble into pieces. super strange. Sometimes I wind up with more teeth than I can "put back" in place...Putting them back in wasn't the tough part surprisingly. It was trying to talk with these wibbly wobblies, without having them fell out @_@

I think I remember someone telling me about a tooth dream, she concluded it was linked to anxiety or something? I have read that it could mean someones trying to take something from you. Also something about lack of self confidence or worry of what people think of you.

I dunno what it was trying to tell me, but it was a very strange dream overall.

I read an article about how cheese can change the way you dream, so I tried eating a cube of cheddar last night. I forgot who the celebrity was, but most of the dream was spent within his dream. I could enter dreams by diving into his head while he was asleep, like diving into a pool. It was a pretty trippy dream. I was changing Halloween outfits and all the other outfits were giving me critiques.
