Hello All,

I'm rather new to Anime and wanted to get a good list of completed anime for future reference. I've noticed since I've started watching anime that a lot of them leave off on cliffhangers (either b/c a new season isn't ready yet or the anime is no longer being produced). Although I've enjoyed watching these shows, I would really like to get more complete stories in as I like the closure they bring and don't leave me hanging and hoping a new season will come out... someday.

Anyway, as a reference, here are the completed anime I've enjoyed so far:

Your Lie in April (Wow! The feels. Highly recommend!)
The World Only God Knows (Fun romantic comedy, with lots of twists and turns, made me happy and sad at the end)
Toradora (What a lovely story, I almost didn't watch it but kept seeing it come up in the forums and gave it a try, glad I did it was such a good romantic comedy)
Stein's Gate (What an awesome, twisty-turny story, with memorable characters, comedy, and feels)
Golden Time (Super fun rom com, with an emotional roller-coaster to end it all)

I've watched some other complete series, but these at the top ones for me right now. You might notice I really like rom coms. However, I am open to any really good anime. So if you have a favorite completed anime, then let me know as I'd love to dive into them.

PS: They don't have to be on Crunchyroll.

Love Live! - One of the few "popular" anime that I feel really deserves it's reputation and popularity. A compact 2 season series (plus a recent movie) that tells a complete story with great characters, amazing music and pretty much no filler. Even the episodes that don't push the overall story forward are character development focused. If you're not into the idol scene, cute girls and school age life you probably won't like it but anyone else should at least give it a try. It's both funny and heart warming in turns.

How dare you not watch Clannad yet.

Also Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and the Monogatari series are my personal faves.

I've moved this to our Advice, Info, Recommendations forum. (It's located under the "Crunchy Connections" section of the main forum page., where folks may continue to add suggestions, but looks like you've got lots to start with.

Unfortunately there's a currently a bug that results in some posts being displayed out of order and sometimes results in the last page of a thread being "hidden" after deletions, and that has happened here. It should reappear if there are a few more posts added, but you can still go to the page using the direct url:

/forumtopic-907139/best-completed-anime?pg=1 (that goes to page 2; the urls start with "pg=0" for the first page)

Hmm, you could try:

Waiting in the Summer

I think one of those might be to your liking

To me personally, the two best completed anime in existence are Aria: the Origination and Kemono no Souja Erin. That's just me though - so take it as you will.

EDIT - Although, I should mention that Aria is, in fact, getting another "season". But the show itself is finished and the new "season" is really just 3 OVA type episodes that take place at various points within the series itself.

Say I Love You
Blue Exorcist
Angel Beats
Someday's Dreamers
Someday's Dreamers 2: Sora
Chaika the Coffin Princess
Dusk-maiden of Amnesia
Soul Eater Not
Gunslinger Stratos
Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Ai Yori Aoshi
A Bridge to the Starry Skies
Chronicles of the Going Home Club

All pretty much have actual closings (some before the credits, some after) and they were all amazing shows in their own ways. So you know, Someday's 1+2 are separate seasons/mini-series with different casts and each with it's own distinct ending.

I agree that it's annoying when shows end on cliff-hangers; that being said, there are a lot of them that do end well (many of which have been mentioned). A few others that I like a lot, all of which have very satisfying ends:

- Kanon (2006)
- Gargantia of the Verderous Planet
- Aishiteruze Baby
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Myself; Yourself
- ef: Tale of Memories
- Nagi no Asukara
- Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu (two seasons, plus "Finale" OVA for good ending)
- Familiar of Zero (after four seasons)
- Kimikiss: Pure Rouge
- Little Busters (after two seasons)
- Shuffle
- Kotoura-San
- Valkyria Chronicles

I suppose i'll keep this list down to what is currently available on CR:

Uchouten Kazoku
No. 6
World Conquest Zvezda Plot
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (there's also a movie but its not available on crunchyroll just yet)

All of these are full story arcs that are completed within 12-24 episodes and I personally enjoyed each one, but they vary in genre.

Some more shows that aren't available on Cruncyroll, but are worth the watch:

Death Parade
Mirai Nikki
Cowboy Bebop
Space Dandy
Ghost in the Shell
Serial Experiments Lain
Zankyou no Terror

There are tons more but I happened to like these quite a bit. Same deal though 12-24 episodes, full story arc. All of them are worth the watch

Side note: Magi is not complete yet and it may be a while before season 3 comes around, but it is one of my favorite shows available on CR right now; its got 50 or so episodes right now over two larger story arcs but i'd recommend picking it up now and watching it slowly before it becomes too long to watch from the begining
