Pizza Hut recently released their monstrosity of a pizza - pizza with mini-hot dogs in the crust. See my picture above, as I had it for my birthday dinner last night.

First, what is your impression of this pizza? Would you try it? I did and...it's very filling, but tastes like two separate meals, one hot dog, one pizza related. Together? Not bad, but not the greatest thing I've ever eaten. Would eat again, may not pay for it again...

Second, what other gimmicky foods have you seen lately and...have you tried them? If you have, what are they like?

Let's talk about some gimmicky foods!

Well, I like both pizza dogs and hotdog topped pizza but honestly it just seems another typical marketing gimmick like KFC's Double-down or the Heart Attack Cafe's Quadruple-bypass Burger. I can't see myself ever trying any of those gimmick foods at a take-out joint.

Congratulations, Pizza Hut--You just ruined pizza! First the Hawaiians, then San Francisco, and now you!

I dislike gimmicky food. It's good once in a while, but just as a novelty.

I prefer traditional foods done right. Modern cooking is moving toward gimmicky, new, fusion stuff but I think traditional cooking done right is far superior in flavor.

I tried the Double Down. It was...underwhelming.

The very concept of it looks like a heart attack waiting to happen .

It does, but it fails alone on taste. The taste wasn't that great...so, there's that.

At least the hot dog crusted pizza had a decent taste.

I don't like how people add bacon to everything.

Like this? Bacon in desserts.
