They might mean a greater amount of work performed over the same duration, or the same amount of work performed over a shorter duration. Or perhaps a greater amount of work performed over a shorter duration. All of these things will yield higher power.

Exponentials.

Seriously, I think that's just their way if filling the missing gap in knowledge. It's easy to say magic did it, than to find a scientific reasoning.

you're pitching to my wheelhouse here. a higher power is anything that is greater than myself. a group, a program, a biome, influenza, russia, the law... whatever. i recognize many higher powers. i am also an atheist. being an atheist does not mean i cannot humble myself before a hurricane.

i will admit, some people might not understand this. some people might insist that a higher power must be a god or gods or magic or whatever. but in truth, it is anything greater than myself. recognition of this takes humility.
if you wish to discuss atheist spirituality, hit me up!
hell, i just got back from a meeting.

NA/AA says that you should believe in a higher power but often insists that this "higher power" is god.
Which is exactly why going to meetings used to make me either want to a) use, or b) become an atheist.
