This is both a basic "Ask me anything" and a "General Announcement"

I'm a "Skinhead" and not one of those bonehead-bozos that go around smacking foreigners "just because", nor one those nutjobs that take part in the local naziparty and I'm not one of those redskin SJW wankers. I'm a "Tradskin", I care little for politics, I have my opinions and sometimes "others" like to put me in "one or the other" compartments but I'm proud to say that I piss everyone off, reds have labeled me as a "racist, homophobe, nazi etc." and nazis have labeled me as a "zionist, race-traitor, jew-tool etc." and the general establishment have written me off as little more then "an uneducated hooligan".

In a general sense I'd just like to annouce to anyone (if you even care because I am quite amazed by the high level of tolerance in this community) that I am a Skinhead. If you have any questions about me or my culture feel free to ask.

But I would also like to point at the general "paradox" of this. I'm a skinhead, shortcropped hair, boots n' braces, bomber jacket and a general disregard for authority. I've never been to an anime convention but given the pictures I have seen, I would stand out, is it stange for a skinhead to like anime/manga? I like to read online mangas but sometimes they get "too cute" or "too silly" and I have to run my favoute tracks of 4skins, Booze and Glory and Discharger just to "level my mind out".

To go from this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmDp2rZK6mM - Discharger "We're Coming To Your Town"

to this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgOe4eqxkQc - Sora no Woto "Amazing Grace"

Honestly I don't even know why I'm posting this, anime/manga makes me feel like a "living paradox", is it true that this genre brings something out within us that in normal circumstances are totally alien to us?

"Just like them" Makes people boring. It happens in every subculture. The "kids who don't fit in" flock to something weird like anime in this case. Then after awhile the prudes start joining in and telling "noobs" they don't belong. I've been around a long time in a lot of different scenes. Punk, hip-hop, goth all have this sort of timeline. Anime is at one of those junctures where it's gotten so popular that the next generation of "kids who don't fit in anywhere else" are getting punked out of having fun because of the prudes.
Tl;dr So what if you don't fit in, you like what you like. That's all well and good by me.

Skins in a nutshell, we don't fit in anywere, we don't want to fit in anywere but we are bloody well going to stomp and swing hammers around to tell everyone about it

Basically I just wish to contribute to the sheer diversity of the anime/manga culture. All from different walks of life with different views of the world but we are all into this

Sorry yes that is what I mean

That is a long, very long story to tell. To keep things short, we are the "blue collar working class", our "way of life" is to "live for the weekend". We toil away in the workshops, docks and factories etc. just to make enough to have a bloody good time when friday evening hits. We drink, have fun and stomp around.

But for the most part we are portrayed as hooligans and nazis

Thx to the boneheads in Skrewdriver.

Most of us like to think we are that way. We are just "everyday workers" but we are proud of it, we actually like to be at the bottom end of society. We don't want to "advance", we don't want to "climb the social ladder" or suck up to the higher ups. The establishment don't seem to like this so that is why (as we are the ones "aware" of our situation) we like to confront the buggers, let's see how that fancy suit and that plastic surgery smile stand up to natural muscles and steel capped boots.

i dont think you would stand out because people are dressed in all kinds of outfits at conventions. I don't think it's strange for you to like anime, stereotypes are boring.
