So, as another season winds down, it is time to remove the series that I have finished from my watch list. Either to make room for next season, or to bump up some long ignored gem.

Anyone else feel a little emptiness in your heart when removing a series? Or perhaps there are a few you hold so dear, you just enjoy seeing the titles there each day when choosing what to watch.

Anyone else feel this way? What titles were the hardest to let go of, or are still there with you?

Not really since there is so many anime on my queue, it seems like it never shrinks.

It's kinda painful to remove the completed series from the queue.
But then I remember that new anime will take their place, so it's just a cycle.

Same here. Back at my old job I had time to spare and sink into it. Being depressed I may or may not keep up but wouldn't take more than a week to catch up. New job means a lot less anime time so the backlog has built up quite a bit.

To this very day I've never used the queue feature

However, I do manually keep a watch list - which is just a list of shows that i'm watching / need to watch.

I hardly ever update it though - so it usually just grows and grows full of stuff i've already finished until I clean it out and update it.

All that background information just to say that I actually feel really satisfied when removing shows from my watch list. Since I tend to do it in batches, it usually feels like i've finished more shows than I really have

I only use the queue to keep track of older stuff I haven't gotten around to watching yet.

Plus this is when I get to add shows to my watched list, which is satisfying.

I stopped feeling that way about 300 series ago

If I've learned one thing in my travels, it's that anime never ends.

I feel bad about dropping series, which happened to five series this season, but I did go back and finish one of them. Never felt bad about completing series though. If anything, I feel good. It's an accomplishment, especially for me, a guy who hasn't completed many series yet.

Usually no. Any little sad a show is over feeling that I have (which certainly doesn't happen for every show I watch) is easily satisfied by checking it off as "done"(which is what queue removal feels like) and the pleasure of adding new things. Miss Monchrome, it is so nice to have you back in my queue

I have far too much stuff in my queue(s) across all the sites and devices i use for streaming. it has to be done. The memories live on as long as it was a good show and impacted me in some way. Plus if I like it, i tend to buy it later anyways or re-queue it.

Yes I feel sorrow especially because I am a routine kinda guy when your bored with job or life its my nature to look forward to something ahead like a new episode from a series I am really liking, after getting background from MCs I start to feel like I know them and usually why they behave a certain way. When the series says final episode and you don't know if its returning for another season its like moving away from friend and maybe never seeing them again. That's my personal take on it
