The BBC have decided to axe the bbc3 channel and create the content for that channel for online.

I personally think this is the worse decision by the bbc, as it will mean several shows being axed and not returning. It will also mean viewership will drop and then subsequently the bbc will only have a handful of their shows supporting the bbc.

The online content could work similar to netflix/amazon but as of yet, I'm not convinced.

I'm quite glad personally, hope the BBC fails soon. Their programming of late has been of lower quality, so I don't even see the point to buying the TV license anymore.

BBC Three hasn't died yet... the decision was made last year but it's not going to go until 2016. To be replaced with BBC One +1 (hour delay of BBC One channel).

I would also recommend to anyone skeptical of the BBC TV licence (not license, it's not American) to enjoy the variety of TV that the USA has to offer. I'd happily pay $200 a year to get rid of some of the adverts, plus to have a decent national/international TV news service (sorry the USA has better local TV news than the UK).
