I live in a decent sized city now of about 1 million people, but I was born and raised in a place that had less than 100 people in the junior/highschool combined and my own graduation class was about 14 kids. I still love going out there and I loved growing up in that area, but as I get older, I find there's less of a drive to stay there.

However, I do love the country for all the random shit you can get up to like dynamite, off roading and driving old trucks that are held together by prayers and rust. So basically, I love both, can't choose. Love to live in the city, love to play in the country.

well i live in an urban place but i have lived in rural places its really calming and peaceful, but in urban areas there are always people there so you wont feel kinda lonely i guess, and there stores, etc everywhere which is convenient for me. So idk honestly.

Lived in both rural and urban (although urban for majority of life).

I love the convenience and variety of city living. ore choices and things to do. But country living is calmer and quieter. You tend to know most people and can do things that you just cant do in the city.

However, since I have spent a lot of my life in the city, I don't think I could return to country living unless there was a really good reason.

City all the way something happening 24/7 being able to have Chinese food at 2 am or not needing a car always close to airport. I love country but for camping or visiting sure thing but I like being around and pulse of life

I live in a pretty Rural area and I honestly hate the hell out of it. I wish I lived in a modern area. I can't progress or find anything in this dump.

I've lived in both, but prefer rural. My parents retired to the (remote) country and found it difficult to obtain services as their health failed.

I've seen the best and worst both have to offer. But I prefer nature to concrete so I swing rural every time.

I think I'd honestly hate living in a rural place. I like knowing that I could go somewhere, you know? So urban. I like where I live, and I used to assume it was suburban, but it's pretty close to the capital city, so I suppose it's more urban.

I'm city born and bred. I'd go for holidays in rural areas. Convenience is good but sometimes some fresh air, peace and quiet is refreshing.

I live in the suburbs, I live in a town but.. not too small. I live near Philadelphia (urban) but it's still sorta tranquil (rural).

Have live in many different circumstances. Ranging from a farm in the country, small and mid size towns, and a metropolitan area where I have lived for the last 20 years. Honestly I prefer the convenience of the city so long as I'm in a more residential part of it. I'm not a fan of the downtown loft idea they are pitching lately, and see plenty of them through my job. The small towns and rural farm were much quieter, and closer to nature. Still, for now I prefer ease of access to services over closeness to nature.

Some interesting answers seems to be a pretty even split of urban and rural supporters. How do you guys feel about the fact that mega cities are going to continue to grow in size and influence in the coming decades and the fact that the vast majority of the human population will be living in cities as opposed to rural ares?
