I could list dozens of things that annoy me in anime... so much so that at times, I am either willing to skip ahead, or drop a series completely. But for me personally, these pet-peeves rank near the top of my anime-killer list.

I would have listed "Too Obvious - Something that is puzzling an MC which is so obvious that it hurts my brain to even watch" but there are times when that is integral to the anime for Children and Young Adult audience to help them learn. But it is so irritating to me that I will either skip content or stop following a series if it becomes too much to bear. Especially if the anime is of a genre where the whole plot centers around it's understanding. (Poorly done "Mystery" anime is a perfect example of this... as is a Romance where even the cat can see the "signs" before the MC ever catches on)

All the above reasons are reason enough but if I'm going to pick one I'd say Too Shy (aka you're dense as fuck, please get on with it already)

Can't stand that shit in anime or irl.

Rushing an anime, it sucks but sometimes it can't be helped so I understand.

Agreed the first arc is by far the best out of the whole series, shame it was so short.

The greatest downfall SAO suffers (at least the first arc anyways) is the time skipping. They should have gone about it like the Progressive series is going. Not only would it do better I think, it would rake in a ton of revenue given it's already crazy popularity. If they stuck to the Progressive time frame it could be another huge 100+ episode anime.

I'm goin' for all of the above. I've encountered each of these factors enough to have proven dismay.

DENSE PROTAGONIST. LIKE FOR EXAMPLE, YOUR HAREM ANIME CAN HAVE ALL THE FAN SERVICE YOU WANT, BUT IF THAT THERE PROTAGONIST IS A LIL DENSE M8, THAN ITS ALL OVER FOR YOU. There are other ways to do those types of shows without a dense protagonist, it's not mandatory. Why don't you make it so they ignore them, although aware, or crack some jokes to ease the tension. In any show, the protagonist has to be likable or respectable, dense characters aren't either.

I've powered through bad plots, but shy characters that take it to the next level drive me insane.

Rushed anime are the worst for me. Many of them have so much potential and the manga for some are so good. But when they try to cram a long story into 12 or so episodes really does suck. A good example would be Yamada-kun, such a good manga but they could've really used the extra 12 for a more complete adaption.

When it doesn't try hard enough to explain what the hell is going on, there's nothing worse than when they expect you to know what's going on when they hardly explained anything. (they being the writers or whatever)
