Shhhh! Maybe they forgot, don't say that out loud :)

Well, now, seriously, I'll stop paying annual premium membership went it's gone :(

It will not be good to me, I don't have fancy gaming consoles and I'm not buying a silly stick for my Smart TV, it's already smart!

So, we gotta enjoy until it drops off.

There were conflicting reports from CR as to whether the apps would quite working, or they would continue working (at least until something broke them) but simply be unsupported.

Doubt it.
My TV is actually a Panasonic but posting here anyway as sane issue. Everytime I open the app it tells me out will be unavailable from 8/8

Never received a email, just checked my tv. The Crunchyroll app still works so have turned off automatic updating. Have to decide if I continue to subscribe if I cannot watch directly on my tv.

Presumably any significant changes to the streams or server back-end will be the nail in the coffin, and possibly this is what is planned to happen in August.

It would be good if someone from Crunchyroll could give a proper statement about this and answer some of the questions that have been raised. Particularly given that many of us didn't get the original email, nor does the Samsung app give any warning in the same way the Panasonic one apparently does. If it wasn't for some seemingly throwaway comments on here I wouldn't have had any clue that any of this was happening and I very much doubt I'm the only one.

cancelled as well, will probably get around to putting together a Kodi box for the TV I feel it has held up longer than many devices so seems like a better long term solution than being cut off every year or 2 until I buy new hardware.

Gah, you guys jinxed it

"We can not connect - please try again later!"

Somehow I don't think doing that is going to help.

Not sure if it is a coincidence but SmartHub did an update today. Would be curious to see if anyone that blocked the updates is getting anything different...

Well, I never updated and it doesn't work anyway.

So, ladies and gentlemen, it's gone, and so my premium account, I'm cancelling it right away.

Same here. I never got an email about it and it's the app I use the most (at least once a day). Settled in to watch Diamond of Ace a few minutes ago and got a message that it couldn't connect. After it failed a second time, I came to the forum to see what was up and found this thread. Very sad as it was my preferred way to watch CR. I'm not upset enough to cancel, but I wish I had gotten the notice.

Yup , it's not working now . Get the cannot connect error . I have smarthub auto update disabled too . I think they owe us one working device to replace shutting ours off . I don't think we'll ever get an answer why . I think that stretched themselves too thin & can't keep up with the products . Why bother supporting the number 1 selling TV in the U.S. ?
