Was there ever a show or a game you loved as a kid, but now you know it was really bad?

Games: I personally loved many games that were actually really bad, Harvest Moon DS is an example. I played it so much, but it was really glitchy and not well made. I still say it's an amazing game though. A game I know is good, based on reviews and such, is Mario Galaxy! Though not my favorite game ever, I know it has a high quality and is highly regarded among many gamers.

Movies: Major Payne is one of my favorite movies to date even though many others don't like it.

TV shows: All the shows I watched are good so this doesn't apply! (Obviously not being stubborn)

Anime: I know the pokemon anime isn't very good, but it's what got me into the games so I mean....

WHAT ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE SEEING THIS? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU LOVE THAT IN REALITY WASN'T THE BEST THING EVER, BUT YOU STILL LOVE IT?

Reply if you care...

Ignoring the best set up for a molestation joke I have ever heard; I feel like pretty much anything to do with Mega-Man is pretty awful, but I know there is an 8 year old me who would fight just about anyone for saying that.

Lets just sit and wait for the FFVII fans.

There is this game called Time Killers that my brother loved and it was atrocious! I think you can hack off heads and arms in the middle of the fight. I couldn't think of a more awful game, but it was memorable!

Best games of my childhood--

Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, GTA.

So how do you feel about it? Do you think it's going to stink? There are certainly precedents for it, but Crisis Core was good. I'm so hoping it to be good.

Those games would probably suck if I played them now. They were awesome to me as a 10 year old but 21 year old me would probably not like them, except maybe GTA since I still play that

I never played it but it's just so overhyped lol. The only FF I played was X and X-2.

I've noticed that my interests have withstood the test of time. I've also noticed that regardless of how recent my first experience with them are, the things I enjoy the most do not tend to be things that are popular or even objectively good.

Same here! Most of the things I mentioned are things I still love, for the most part! I can still play games that aren't exactly "masterpieces" and watch movies that weren't critically acclaimed.

The salt mines...

Really, no joke. They had salt mines in Germany I loved to visit and just explore. They don't even have any pretty Halite. Now I go back and they are just so plain.
Another one would be fish sticks.... what was I even thinking of?! And chicken nuggets... McDonalds too... I regret a lot of my prior food choices.

For games... The original pokemon? I love them, but the graphics and the "story."

I had nostalgia for Digimon, but now that I am re-watching it since Crunchyroll got it, it's not so great as I remember as a kid.

Nickelodeon was the shit back in my day! I mean 'The Amanda Show' , 'ALL THAT!', Aaaahhhhh real monsters!, and Rugrats! Such a nostalgic trip!

Late at night would watch Beavis and butthead on MTV and see they comment on music videos. Or watch TRL with my older cousin.

Stay up all night with my mom playing super Nintendo or N64. Mostly Star Fox, Raman 2, 007 Golden Eye, and mario kart. Knowing I had school in the morning.

Watching shows and movies depicting the future of flying cars and hover boards. Graphics on games become more and more realistic as time went on. Just pandering on how fast technology has come is overwhelming. If my 6yr old self was dropped in the here and now his head would fucken explode with all this advancement
