OP meant games that sucked you liked in spite of. :)

Those games would probably suck if I played them now. They were awesome to me as a 10 year old but 21 year old me would probably not like them, except maybe GTA since I still play that

What about 007 Golden Eye for the N64? One of the best games ever in my childhood

A lot of things we enjoyed as kids are just archaic really. It doesn't mean it was bad quality/shitty. And a lot of people don't find archaic things appealing anymore.
Back then, quality entertainment was a little different from what we see today. It had different standards.
Thats why when people compare something that came out like 20 years ago with something that came out today is a completely unfair comparison. Back then, the thing was good. But now that we have better technology than 20 years ago, of course, it seems pretty shitty & unappealing to people now because they are used to better stuff out today.
PS1 games often had glitches (mostly graphical) & terrible draw distance in its early days, but it was still considered to be amazing & cool.
A game like one of the early ps1 games that were a hit, would be a huge miss & the worst game ever if it came out today obviously.
Acting was pretty bad too in a good amount of movies, TV shows & games. But at the time it was probably considered at least decent/watchable if we find it THAT bad today.

Also, I used to play a lot of Sonic The Hedgehog games. Including Sega Genesis games in general. I was never that interested in Nintendo then (or even now).
Also for anime it was YGO, Pokémon, and Slayers.
I watched a lot of animated movies & TV shows, but they didn't feel that bad even if I watch it now (or maybe that's bc I'm not really making the cheesy/corny lines in it as a con.)

Best games of my younger self would be pokemon, star wars battlefront, and destroy all humans 2.
Best shows were pokemon because i really liked it back then and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.
I didn't really watch much movies when i was little though so i don't really have one.

Sailor Moon seemed pretty good to me back then...
Hamtaro too...

But now I'm glad that my eye for detail has become more organised...

I should probably put a word in about my old "artworks"......

Nickelodeon was the shit back in my day! I mean 'The Amanda Show' , 'ALL THAT!', Aaaahhhhh real monsters!, and Rugrats! Such a nostalgic trip!

Late at night would watch Beavis and butthead on MTV and see they comment on music videos. Or watch TRL with my older cousin.

Stay up all night with my mom playing super Nintendo or N64. Mostly Star Fox, Raman 2, 007 Golden Eye, and mario kart. Knowing I had school in the morning.

Watching shows and movies depicting the future of flying cars and hover boards. Graphics on games become more and more realistic as time went on. Just pandering on how fast technology has come is overwhelming. If my 6yr old self was dropped in the here and now his head would fucken explode with all this advancement

Nice signature.

So how do you feel about it? Do you think it's going to stink? There are certainly precedents for it, but Crisis Core was good. I'm so hoping it to be good.

Im worried the fans are gonna complain & say something like "this doesn't feel like FF7"
Also I liked CC too, more than ff7.

Watching stuff a big struggle, searching for Dubs which did not make to the DVD too, but the worse is the memory fading apart when you rematch stuff like Gundam Wing (wich was kinda BL or shojo) or Evangelion (WTF I was watching as a kid) it wasn't until last year that Gundam Wing got a Blu-ray re release , now Patlabor a series from mid 80s is getting it too. waiting time is horrendous dude.

Again from 480p or 576p.... The struggle is real.

I was obsessed with the Winx Club as a kid (the first three original seasons, not this crap Nickelodeon is doing now)

Tales of Symphonia. I had so much fun at the game, but I can't in good consciousness call it a good game.

I never played it but it's just so overhyped lol. The only FF I played was X and X-2.

If you haven't played pre-X Final Fantasy, you haven't played Final Fantasy.

Since the games didn't have any voice acting and limited memory to work with, they really pushed what they could do with pre-rendered backgrounds, music, and character model gestures. The games had a really thick atmosphere to them that I rarely see matched today, and they still hold up.

Final Fantasy VII of course was great, but so were the others. VIII was probably the weakest link, but even that had its moments.

My personal favorite was Final Fantasy VI. However, I do think VII did a great job with what it had to work with, it was an awesome experience. It may be a little over-hyped, but it still holds its own in comparison to other RPGs today.

I used to LOVE Naruto, but now after rewatching it I see many problems... It's nostalgia rather than quality.
Shows like HxH or Love So Life, however, are actually good.
