But to say everyone poor shouldn't have kids seems a bit much.

Your being to kind that notion is absurd.

Maybe so, but I understand where he is coming from. Or at least his thought process. It's just too ridiculous. It sounds like a plan a dictator would think of for poor people.

That was not the question. The question was should poor people be allowed to have kids. If we went by your understanding then the human species would have died out thousands of years ago. Because the majority of people dont have the money to support their kids and them selves but they sacrifice everything to make sure their kids will succeed. Its called being a parent, try looking it up.

While it is true that low income communities are more prone to a negative lifestyle, you are clearly oversimplifying and overgeneralizing something that's out of your scope of understanding. You are implying that a high income means that the child will surely live the happiest life possible. Negative, my good skilly biscuit. Anything can happen to any type of family no matter the income. A child from a rich family could be the saddest and most mistreated individual out there; just as anyone with low income, or "poor people" as you refer to them, could actually live a fulfilling life.

I'm not saying that's the norm of what's actually happening in our world, but I think it's stupid to think that all low income families will mistreat children or get them just to get some extra cash out of the government. I get it, some people do that, and yes, some people are just nasty, but stereotyping an entire community as bad parents just because of their low income is a gross thing to think of as a human being.

I agree that if you can't support a child you shouldn't be having one, and you should consider the option of having an abortion, but if the couple or the person having the baby, feel like they're willing to make that type of sacrifice they should be able to do so without taking away the child just because of "low income".

Also, your solution, to put up low income family kids up for adoption, has got to be the worst thing I've ever heard of trying to implement... I mean, have you even been through a foster care system? Have you lived at an orphanage? Gurl. No. By all means, please edumacate yerself before posting something labeled as a "solution". >.>

I have cleaned out the off-topic mess in here.
Stop derailing, and stop the infantile picture responses.

(As expected, we're getting out of order posts again, apologies for that.)

rich people can be overweight too, and rich people are not the best parents either...this topic is rather complex and can go both sides...personally, if you mean poor as in lower-middle-class, then I am sure they can be good parents if they tried....you know the money situation doesn't determine how they treat their children....they can still keep the family healthy and well just like upper-class can really fuck with a child

No, my comment is on point. They should not be allowed to have children, period.

The only point to our society is to allow humans to eat and breed.

No. If you can't pay for them... stop having them. You might be creating life... but you are creating a rather poor life for those babies.

On the same note I think people on welfare shouldn't be able to vote. If you are proven to not be able to run your own household why the hell should you be able to pick people that run a whole country?

Everyone who truly has honest and educated comments should just stop replying to this topic. Its frustrating but you cant get anywhere with someone does not want to listen or learn. Its like talking to a brick wall.

This is the most presumptuous thing I've read all day. Being poor does not mean you'll be fat, unable to cook good healthy food or being a terrible parent. What you said is pure classism based on bullshit, and I'm willing to bet your story didn't happen. At least, that you didn't actually confront the mother.

The people that are poor for very unfortunate and unfair circumstances , yet still try to break their backs are the ones that deserve children. The ones that are addicts, do human trafficking , just wasting their life on the corner with a whiskey bottle do not. I've seen many poor people in my state that have an opportunity too make something outta themselves but they decide not too, it makes me really mad when I see people like those.

Well... considering a thread that was recently locked I can't blame him... Fortunately, though, most people on these forums know how to keep up a discussion.

I think they should be allowed to, however it should be limited to 1 child per household and then as your yearly income rises you have the ability to have more children.
