Do people care too much what others think or say about them?

There are so many people who love dishing out complaints to tv shows and stuff which leads to censoring etc.

And alot of people seem to have double standards. Women complain about female objectification, but what about this Magic mike film? Not so many complaints about that...

I think people should just let everything go over their head. Who cares if a women are sexualised? Who cares if a man is?
Its the same with everything else. Who cares if someones racist? Who cares if someone homophobic? If you dont like something, then just dont complain about it and get on with your life. You'd be so much happier.

We're supposed to live in the 'Free World' but you cant even say what you want too.

I saw a group of black lads in the city centre yesterday calling each other the N word, and then they saw a white guy and shouted racist abuse at him. The white guy walked over to a cop who was in the area and told him. Cop says - Nothing I can do about it. Yet if it was the other way around to gets all over the news.

For every person who doesnt like something, another will love it / be fine with it so i think people should just stay in their own bubble and just ignore what others say.

Does anyone else experience things like this?

I'm not going to say my opinion on this matter because I'm scared someone will judge me for it.

Your thread sounds like an excuse to just complain. And its what the average straight white male always complains about too.

Many people care too much. I have been called Cracker, Nazi, Misogynistic Pig a few times too (I brought up the Magic Mike thing, didn't go over well with a certain group)(Also worked at a theater during that show... That was kind of scary. The ladies were.. intense?)...

Insults don't bother me. In the end I end up throwing it back at them with a smile. If you throw it back with a smile, it pisses them off a lot more than it did to you. People just need to figure that out. Solves a lot of issues.

there's no such thing as blacks being racist lol
same as no such thing as females being sexist lol
no such thing as reverse oppression lol
prejudice? yes assault/insult? yes

anyway it's hard to live in a free world when so many people don't agree with other people
it will always be this way, there will always be an oppression of some sort
you can say what you want but it won't do any good, it seems...if one thing changes for the good of another, it is a bad change for the other

The problem is, that people will use "Free Speech" to get away with saying whatever they want. They are within their rights to do this, I guess, but if they get backlash for saying something hateful, they can't really complain about it. We shouldn't be using any type of sexist/homophobic/racial slurs because it just holds us back as a society by thinking less of someone because of how they were born. That includes whites being insulted by blacks and vice versa. It includes women who think less of men just because they're men, and it includes us homos that think negatively of heterosexual just because they're not like us.

"What other people think of you is not your business"

Words to live by. I think we'd be much better off if people weren't so worried about what others think about them. It just spreads negativity. We need more positive vibes.

So true lol.......

I think people care too much what people think in a couple of different ways. One, they are very self conscious and two, the world is so dam politically correct and people are so sensitive now that you have to worry about what you say.
But its good to worry about what others think as far as being polite, courteous and having common decency.

Didn't think that kind of thing happened much in the UK. Must be a "cultural" thing after all.

anzn seriously needs to get offline and meet some real people. Here making more stereotypes than Sony 20 hours a day. Any kind of attention is good to those that receive very little in real life though I suppose.

I know here in the states a lot of this recent racial nonsense and gay marriage stuff has been a smokescreen. Something that hasn't gotten a lot of news attention... the TPP. When I saw that it finally all made sense to me. Yet another trade agreement sending more jobs away. At least this time they stuck in 450 million whole dollars to retrain displaced workers. You'll have to use it at a burger college though because that is about all that is going to be left. The only way to get some equality in the workplace I guess... remove the workplace.

Meanwhile, Homeland Security is buying up quite a bit of ammunition. Be prepared for the United Police States of America.

Thank you generation loud and stupid.

White people can easily do so without it having an actual effect on them personally & for their entire lives.
It comes with the privilege.
(Also something they can deny as well)
