Yes I saw that article before. But I'm sticking with my prediction that it's incest that will be next. Polygamy, in my opinion, requires more moral decay than incest, especially between consenting cousins. But now that the traditional view that marriage is a right specifically because of procreation has been shattered, many groups are going to gain stronger ground using the same logic that got gay marriage passed (love is love, love wins, it doesn't matter as long as they're consenting, etc). Either way, we're on a long slippery slope downwards from here.

Polygamy does not require more moral decay than incest. If some people want to have more than one partner, let them. Although I do think that certain laws should be modified in that case. It's gonna be a Mother if one person there gets divorced. That said, Same-Sex Marriage has been legal in Canada for years now, and they still haven't legalized Polygamy or Incest... So I don't get what everyone's fear on the legalization of Same-Sex Marriage involves those two "Forbidden Roads". Also, just gonna throw this out there, the Bible has a pretty non-traditional approach to Traditional Marriage. ^-^

tl;dr: I don't think it opens the door to either incest or polygamy. It opens the door to same-sex marriage. >.>

"What do you mean same sex marriage might lead to polygamy! Outrageous! Slippery slope fallacy! We don't believe in polygamy!"

*SSM legalized*

"Well, maybe they kinda perhaps do have the same right to get married #lovewins........

I'm not saying you have to be a pathological liar to be part of the Left in America, but it helps......

wat?

I never said I didn't believe in polygamy in the first place. I just don't think it has anything to do with same-sex marriage, and shouldn't be linked as an after-effect of same-sex marriage.

I highly doubt a court hearing their case will lead to polygamy being legalized or even get the ball rolling. Marriage in the U.S. is built around monogamous marriages. The whole system would have to be redone practically from the ground up and that would require a huge movement. And I don't believe polygamy is that popular in the minds of U.S. citizens to garner such support.

My guess is yes. Just like how we allow both sexes to be prostitutes here.

Incest has already been approved in Germany>.>

This world will be destroyed by ourselves before we know it>.<

No offence to anyone here but I personally think legalizing such marriages indicate that previous laws, regulations and morals are being abandoned.

We'll be no different than animals:(

Depending on the state, it might not be completely legal, but not completely illegal....

Yeah, because it's not like polyamory and sexual orientation are distinct matters or anything, let alone the matter of whether close relatives ought to be able to enter into civil marriages with one another. Let's just pretend that these are simple questions with a singular answer. Life's too hard if you put a bunch of grey between that nice, clear black and white.

I don't see why not, just saying it wouldn't surprise me at all. My personal feelings on the matter are nonexistent, either way is fine with me. Monogamy is preferable to me, regardless of sexual orientation, but who am i to interfere with another's happiness, as long as it harms nobody and the arrangement is consentual, i don't really care.

I can be polygamous. Just take me out to the forest with a girl and we can have children and I can marry them
