Okay time for some hard truth.

EXPAND YOUR INTERESTS. DONT BE CULTURALLY ISOLATED.

If you are so into anime/games (common symptoms include listening solely to OSTs, referencing products no one gets, and not shutting up about the subject)

Look If your interests are so specific that you cant find anyone in a highschool that shares them you have a problem. Im not saying to go out and follow the crowd or join the football team or do something you dislike. But try and cultivate other hobbies. Pick up a taste in something else,

Cultivate an interest in music.
Watch more movies.
Read more books.
And most importantly talk to people about these things.

But heres the secret. When a friend is good enough interests dont matter. Generally its traits of personality that attracts people to each other not interests. And soon enough your taste will rub off on your friends. A friend of mine I had little in common with now watches anime and I turned him onto alot of series. A buddy of mine started listening to music I recommended him. And there traits have rubbed off on me too. The first friend got me back into anime after about a year of not watching it. The other friend has turned me on to countless books and has really given me an appreciation for film.

I find that the more I knew most of my friends the more I discovered that I dont like them cause we share interests I like conversing with them cause there fascinating and cool people. Nothing beats bouncing off long running jokes, and ideas off of friends regardless of whether there of a common interest.

And most of all examine your behavior. Highshcool transformed me from a lonely games/anime nerd who would much rather stay home than hang out to a extremely happy less lonely music/anime nerd who hangs out with his friends alot.

Seems like everyone is a friendless depressed person on here sometimes (not saying you are). Wish there was a way to help or get people motivated.

I play league here and there. I live in Brampton, but you're as old as my brother. If you need someone to play with sometimes, i'll play with you.

Also, in terms of having friends, everyone is right. You don't need to surround yourself with many people. You just need to have a few ride or die friends.

Good luck. Just be yourself
