Well nothing I post adds to the conversation so that's no worry for me :D
For me it's more like biting my tongue. I'm too old for internet fights. The controversial topics I usually end up avoiding for the same reason.

The dragon...bird...lizard...um...anyway, Gon has it right.

Don't be afraid to step up and speak, and if anyone gives you guff for it you give them guff right back (if it pleases you and is in the rules). Otherwise, pay it no mind and you'll reap dividends in the form of time and happiness.

When I first started on this site I was wary of posting anything. This is really the only forum I've ever posted on, so being unfamiliar with things like the quote system, notifications, thread lingo, etc all made me extremely uncomfortable when actually striking up a conversation on here. Though, I've since grown far more comfortable and think nothing of it anymore.

It's weird - I view myself as part of the community, but not a formative part of it. In that sense, I do feel invisible - but not in a bad way.

I feel like a member of a crew. I'm no captain, first mate, navigator, or even a special position like a cook. I'm just an ordinary deckhand - unnoticed for the most part. However - that doesn't make me feel any less connected to the crew as a whole. I guess it's kind of like patriotism, in a sense.

Anyway - I'd say don't worry about it too much. Extroverted individuals tend to break into this community quite easily i'd say. I remember seeing some fairly "obscure" useres who have since grown quite prominent. I won't name names though because i'm not good at interacting with the established names either

The whole idea is to have fun, so do what you want, be yourself - dont try to force it, and with time & a little perseverence you will find your place. Provided you respect other users, there is no reason that you shouldnt be able to enjoy your time & feel a part of the community. Sure there will always be people who seem to ignore you, but chances are thats nothing personal - they do it to everyone without even noticing!! Keep in mind that you get back what you put in, and if its not fun, then dont do it!! And dont be afraid to ask anyone for anything - if they say no, there will always be someone else willing to give you a hand or their considered opinion!! Now I'm rambling!!

The Mos Eisley of Crunchyroll, some* call it. Complete with cantina song, if you look it up.

Just engage and talk. Things will slowly happen on their own. I'm a nooby too. Only been here since I think March? I am also on 4 other anime sites, but this is the only one I continually post on. Probably the best overall community. And I really like the interface(s).

*edit*

Also be true to yourself and be honest. Let that freak flag fly. I'm into lolis, ecchi, harem, rom/com, magic, fantasy and mecha. I mostly watch anime either for big bots bashing each other or for cute girls in funny and crazy predicaments... plus a few other things

In real life i am shy as heck, online i am not. But i don't really have much to say on here. I go on to watch the anime. I do read the threads, but i just read because i don't really have much to say on said topic, but if i did then i would just write what i think. Kinda like now. But yeah, i guess sometimes it can be intimidating.

I've posted on and off here over the past few years. I wouldn't say I ever felt part of the community, but I've never felt rejected here. Rather, I've always felt like someone in the peanut gallery, making comments and here, but mostly ignored. I'm fine with it, and if anything, I prefer it that way.

Edit: That is unless we're talking about real-life. Real-life is just a different story.

Idk, are there forum celebrities around here? I haven't really noticed. I know a ton of people in the Escapist community, but pretty much no one here.

In real life Zoraprime is one of the ten dragons that shall inherit the universe after the end times, and which shall breathe life into the world anew after one thousand years of slumber.

Either that, or you're just more extroverted in real life than you can be bothered to be in a discussion board. One or the other. Equally plausible hypotheses.

Nothing like that. Rather, my group of friends changes often, in accordance with whatever I'm doing with my life, so whether not I feel like I'm in the "in" group or "out" group is hardly consistent. It's not something easy to explain, and quite frankly, I don't think anyone here is interested in the details.

I feel like I have it rougher once I got in.
I pissed off a lot of people on here that I'm pretty sure if they see me on a thread they're like "Its this asshole again."
