What? This can't be true.

California allows cities to be even tougher than state law if voted by the people

City ordinances are a little different, and that still smells off. What cities ban smoking entirely?

Definitely the most extreme smoking laws I've yet to see.

But there are places it is allowed. But still pretty crazy.

I thought it was interesting it was not allowed in certain types of homes. It irks me that they are that restrictive of anything, but I also don't really care about smoking in any form.

I definitely wouldn't support smoking in a market, but now that you pointed out all the restrictions and how crazy some of them really are... I don't think people are wrong when they talk about Americans losing their freedoms.

Here in Florida, it is a second degree misdemeanor to commit "lewd" acts with someone who is unmarried and living in the same residence as you.

Why so specific ? Is it okay if they leave in a different house? Some laws are just, some laws are wrong, and some laws seem just typed by a bunch of monkeys pressing random keys on a computer.

It's an anti-gay law. After laws outlawing sodomy (secret code for gay sex) were ruled unconstitutional in 2003, a bunch of states whose anti-sodomy laws were repealed made it illegal to do anything with someone you weren't married to. And since these were states that refused to recognize same sex marriages, they were still effectively making straight sex the only legal kind.

Another fun legal fact: when a whole load of states outlawed gay marriage, they accidentally made it illegal for me to get straight married, too.

Aaaaand that's the US of A for ya, I guess .

In NC its illegal to smoke inside any public building that prepares food or drinks so no smoking inside bars or restaurants but honestly that law makes some sense. far as stupid laws go,

Elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields,

If a man and a woman who aren’t married go to a hotel/motel and register themselves as married then, according to state law, they are legally married .

Persons in possession of illegal substances must pay taxes on them
