How surprised are people when they get to really know you?

Those are great moments. Many consider me as some thug because of the fact I have lived in the city for about 10 years. Not gonna lie I was a piece of shit during those years, but I mellowed out. What they don't expect is a city boy who played football to watch anime, play videos, and do whatever I find fun, even if it is not seen as "cool." (Dungeons and Dragons was a good example). I do what I find fun, I could care less how that makes another feel

Really depends on the person and the context of our meeting. Most people shouldn't be too surprised when they get to know me though.

Always surprised when they notice I like to play League or watch anime.

I never let anyone get close though. At least offline.

I honestly think nobody really knows me, I act and joke around a lot around others, I don't act how I naturally do around others.

It was hilarious the first time I told people I watch anime. Their surprise always came from the fact that I am southern, with the accent of course. All of my other interests have nothing to do with anime so they just kinda look at me like "wat."

I don't know, I don't care. One thing is for sure, people i don't even know always be spreading rumors claiming to being close to me and crap like that.

Currently I wouldn't say people notice too much difference. Like many others, I've done a lot of customer service work up to this point. This has impacted how I act toward all people whether first meeting or thousandth. Earlier in life though it was quite different. I always came off as quiet, "smart kid" (don't know why), mean-spirited, gay (just because I didn't display great interest in dating), and so on. People that actually spoke with me a bit and became friends quickly changed their opinions.

No one really gets to know me. Though people are incredibly surprised when they see me perform at a gig. I've been commonly referred to as a dark horse because of that.

Probably not too surprised. I'm not actually sure but I would love to know

I guess people are somewhat surprised because I'm apparently I'm full of surprises, and they wouldn't have guessed that I like the things that I like.

I don't think anyone REALLY knows me, even my family members and "close" friends. I'm heavily involved with sports and other activities, so when people find out I spend almost all of my free time watching anime and playing video games, they're usually surprised. I seem confident when talking and doing public speaking too, so people assume I'm an extrovert when the reality is I'm asocial and extremely introverted. I learned how to feign confidence a long, long time ago. I feel really misunderstood, and people often think and say I'm something I'm not, which really irks me. Don't pretend you know who I am.

What sucks for me is the I'm a nice person (modest right?) and try to make everyone feel welcome, so I constantly have people trying to talk to me.

When people find out what I'm really like, they usually:
A) Don't care and keep trying to invite me to social events (which I politely decline), or
B) Assume I'm a loser because I watch a ton of anime.

Anime is cool. The people who watch it are not losers.
